Thank you for that!

OP, your just not open-minded enough to listen to the good stuff that is filled with truth and love.

I'm kind of curious what music genre you listen to, or take the time to add the filth and negativity
in your post about country, rock n roll, etc.....

Just a thought.

Do you have something against the black culture? that started it?

I listened to the music that was linked as well... AND pretty much the first thing i heard was Mother F***** and smoking drugs!!
how is this good morals for today's youth?? WOW
To answer your question i listen to all types of music by all colors... I listen to black artist who speak their words about dancing or having a good time... But not the ones who glorify drugs and the general thug life... This not cool... Are you blind that speaking of such things to children they will only act that out in return someday??

yer, one had swearing but u obviously didn't listen to the songs lol. Dont get me wrong i agree with your point, majority of music today is a bunch of crap, trying to impose stupid morals and ethics, and yer it seems to be doing a good job!
But to say that all of them are negative is wrong. There is both good and bad, your just choosing to see the bad.

this is the first verse from one of the songs i listed. To me it sounds like he totally agrees with you.

"They corrupted the priceless African image of Isis
Replaced it with a lifeless anorexic white bitch
The fashion industry got 'em in a funny spot
Self-hatred leaking out they mouth like a money shot
Movie star, Hollywood Babylon fantasy
Buncha peacock bitches in a coc aine canopy
And if you healthy they make you think you're a manatee
Look how they invented this euro-centric insanity
Got you brain washed to the point you bleaching your skin
Blind to the truth, you can't see the beauty within
Cause ain't nothing wrong with exercise to tighten your thighs
But there's something wrong with contacts that lighten ya eyes
We're goin backwards, from hip hop in the park
To the experiments by Dr. Kenneth Clark
So after the cannabis I'ma have to handle this
Release the pressure on her and open her like an amythist"

I am 36 btw and feel like an old man indeed, but i have lived a good life and have raised good kids with decent morals and i pray they will do the same to their children.
As to your statement comparing yesterdays music to todays Thug rap music there is no comparison what so ever, NONE.. parents 7 and 8 year old daughters never wore mini skirts to school that have sexy written on their rear end... Hello????

The loose morals you're associating with hip hop are a symptom of society, not the cause.

Ditto*

IMHO, the true problem is not the music or culture, it's the people. We ALL know that much of what we see on tv isn't real
. Instead of blaming outside factors, we need to look at the way we are raising/teaching/guiding our youth. Let them kow that that is not how life really is. I don't kow about you, but I don't know anyone with 15 cars, a big mansion that is obviously not theirs, who has pool parties day and night, living the good life toasting champage with diamonds in the glass and a bunch of half dressed hoochies running around sucking lollipops and worse. THAT IS NOT REAL LIFE. It's up to us to explain this to our kids! Why not blame video games too. They are even more violent then what's on tv! There are many factors we can use to explain why our youth act the way they do, but we ignore the fact that much of this can be avoided if we just take the time to talk to our kids. Remember when it was common place for a family to sit down to dinner together? Or back in the day when everybody in the family would come together and watch the Cosby Show or TGIF, when they showed the family type shows? Things sure have changed, and not for the better

I do appreciate all your input but i will forever stick by the notion that this country has been on a decline ever since rap music came about.... and u want me to say it?? yes it is the black man that start all this crap and stupid music that promotes hate and violence towards women children and the general society! I think its about time people speak up and stop being scared to be called racists... god separated us for a reason! man and monkey can not live together!

YOU ARE SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO WRONG.

AND A RACIST.

Hip Hop was started by all of us. Rap is part of the Hip Hop culture.

The second best MC on the planet is white.

Asians can break dance like no other.

I remember parties back in highschool in the 80's and all of us, all colors, would bust rhymes and have good times.

That music, that culture, brought us all together.

and let me ad this.

Music is influential, very.

If it wasnt for Blues singers, we wouldnt have Elvis, then we wouldnt have the Beatles, then we wouldnt have the Brittish invasion, then we wouldnt have Jimmy Hendrix, then we wouldnt have Heavy Metal, then we wouldnt have the Ramones, then we wouldnt have Punk Rock, then we wouldnt have Nirvana.......ETC ETC.....

Yes it influences us.

Yep, It's Rap Music... and before that it was "Death Metal" corrupting our youth, before that it was elvis..with his swiveling hips...

Here's some rap, written by a Blond Haired Blue Eyed guy...

"The Way I Am"

Whatever...
Dre, just let it run
Aiyyo turn the beat up a little bit
Aiyyo... this song is for anyone... # it
Just shut up and listen, aiyyo...

I sit back with this pack of Zig Zags and this bag
Of this weed it gives me the # needed to be
The most meanest MC on this - on this Earth
And since birth I've been cursed with this curse to just curse
And just blurt this berserk and bizarre # that works
And it sells and it helps in itself to relieve
All this tension dispensin these sentences
Gettin this stress that's been eatin me recently off of this chest
And I rest again peacefully (peacefully)...
But at least have the decency in you
To leave me alone, when you freaks see me out
In the streets when I'm eatin or feedin my daughter
To not come and speak to me (speak to me)...
I don't know you and no,
I don't owe you a mo-ther#-in thing
I'm not Mr. N'Sync, I'm not what your friends think
I'm not Mr. Friendly, I can be a prick
If you tempt me my tank is on empty (is on empty)...
No patience is in me and if you offend me
I'm liftin you 10 feet (liftin you 10 feet)... in the air
I don't care who is there and who saw me just jaw you
Go call you a lawyer, file you a lawsuit
I'll smile in the courtroom and buy you a wardrobe
I'm tired of arguin' (of arguin')...
I don't mean to be mean but that's all I can be is just me

[Chorus:]
And I am, whatever you say I am
If I wasn't, then why would I say I am?
In the paper, the news everyday I am
Radio won't even play my jam
'Cause I am, whatever you say I am
If I wasn't, then why would I say I am?
In the paper, the news everyday I am
I don't know it's just the way I am

Sometimes I just feel like my father, I hate to be bothered
With all of this nonsense it's constant
And, "Oh, it's his lyrical content -
- the song 'Guilty Conscience' has gotten such rotten responses"
And all of this controversy circles me
And it seems like the media immediately
Points a finger at me (finger at me)...
So I point one back at 'em, but not the index or pinkie
Or the ring or the thumb, it's the one you put up
When you don't give a #, when you won't just put up
With the bull# they pull, 'cause they full of # too
When a dude's gettin bullied and shoots up his school
And they blame it on Marilyn (on Marilyn)... and the heroin
Where were the parents at? And look where it's at
Middle America, now it's a tragedy
Now it's so sad to see, an upper class ci-ty
Havin this happenin (this happenin)...
Then attack Eminem 'cause I rap this way (rap this way)...
But I'm glad 'cause they feed me the fuel that I need for the fire
To burn and it's burnin and I have returned

I'm so sick and tired of bein admired
That I wish that I would just die or get fired
And dropped from my label and stop with the fables
I'm not gonna be able to top on "My Name is... "
And pigeon-holed into some pop-py sensation
That got me rotation at rock'n'roll stations
And I just do not got the patience (got the patience)...
To deal with these cocky caucasians who think
I'm some wigger who just tries to be black 'cause I talk
With an accent, and grab on my balls, so they always keep askin
The same #in questions (#in questions)...
What school did I go to, what hood I grew up in
The why, the who what when, the where, and the how
'Til I'm grabbin my hair and I'm tearin it out
'Cause they drivin me crazy (drivin me crazy)... I can't take it
I'm racin, I'm pacin, I stand and I sit
And I'm thankful for ev-ery fan that I get
But I can't take a #, in the bathroom
Without someone standin by it
No I won't sign your autograph
You can call me an asshole I'm glad

[Chorus:]
'Cause I am, whatever you say I am
If I wasn't, then why would I say I am?
In the paper, the news everyday I am
Radio won't even play my jam
'Cause I am, whatever you say I am
If I wasn't, then why would I say I am?
In the paper, the news everyday I am
I don't know it's just the way I am
