I have to get one of these....No sails though, I wonder what makes it go?

Just last week, one of the most incredible new yachts ever conceived was launched in Zhuhai, China.
The yacht, dubbed Adastra, is a 139-foot powered trimaran designed to take her owners on long distance cruises around the Pacific.
And in a nod to the preeminence of the iPad, key functions of Adastra can be controlled through a custom app.
The ship took more than five years to develop and has been delivered at a price in excess of $15 million.

It's a jaw dropping boat...and even though it's way outta my price range.. it's shocking that it is only the $15 million range.

I think if I had unlimited money, I would rather have an Ocean Cat. Bedrooms in the pontoons. Big saloon up top. Shallow draft.

Click through the 15 photos from the article. In one of them you can see one huge propeller and two smaller propellers on page 9.

Cool boat it looks like it belongs to the X-Men.

Usually boats have a big mast and a sail. That is what makes it go.

Otherwise the really little one have oars or maybe a paddle.

Don't see what that little propeller thing has to do with it. Probably a decoration.

I like catamarans too (I sailed a lot of hobies when I was younger, lots of fun!). If money wasn't an issue I'd do up something like this instead;

Another one with no sails...that is weird.

I miss my boat. Sold it when I left Michigan. Old Flying Scot. I figured it was too small to sail on the ocean.

Wow. I wonder what that one looks like inside. Looks like a racing boat. Built for speed, not comfort.

I think I could deal with the comfort level of that boat (and car) no problem

What would your ideal maiden voyage be?

With these kinds of boats and money not being an issue, mine would be along the lines of starting off the west coast of British Colombia heading south to Colombia and then over to asian waters (where's the evil smile emoticon when you need it!).

i would have to embark from Miami and tour the small Bahamian islands first as that is the sailing i grew up on, but from there, with boats like these, i would have to hit the French Riviera and Italian and Greek Isles.

Ah, to have been born into a different world!

Cheers!
