Map of the Dead - Zombie Survival Map

Okay, don't let the "Zombie" part mislead you. (Unless you really worry about that kind of thing)

I can honestly see benefit from this assuming the net is still up in a SHTF situation. Especially for those not completely familier with their city. Civil unrest, invasions, whatever.

Anyway, stumbled across this link. It's called map of the dead. Pretty much, in the event of some kind of SHTF scenario, assuming you still have an internet connection, you can input any location and it shows you where things such as medicines, food, ammo, etc...can be found using data from google maps. It works on your mobile for those of you on the go too.

And it's international.

kind of freaks me out lol..

it's got a lot right with it, but it's missing some key things in my area.

first place i'd go is Value Village to be honest.
they have EVERYTHING you would possibly need besides food and water.

and there is a massive police complex in the middle of the forest, in the middle of the city that they recently built.
I would try and check that place out as an armory and try to find survivors and establish that building as a fort and setup a perimetre, if anything.

This is very nifty.

I should print one out for my area right now. Lol

You know, that's actually not a bad idea.

Cool post and link. I've always said that if/when SHTF while people are all at the stores gathering all the food I will be robbing the pharmacies and getting some bartering leverage.

Noticed this myself the other day on SHTFPLAN.com, looked up my area, very cool map, glad to know im safe, good luck.

I would approach these areas with care.

If they aren't round up areas, they will be the areas of great chaos and conflict.

The best thing is to already have all the items you will need from these places so that you can safely remain far away from them.

IMOHO.

i know this thread is a little old, but I figured I would chime in. the map of my area seems to be missing a few key points on it. such as a Gander Mountain which would be essential for just about every survival supply out there. and about 3 other small gun stores. if anyone is familiar with the Duluth MN area check it out and see what I mean. do we know of them updating this site, or is there a way to help them update it?
