This is my fave thread at the mo'...

my earliest memory is embaressing and I know I'm going to be laughed at...
here goes...

I'm about 5 months old, I'm living in an old railway carriage outside of town that my dad has remodelled into a home for my mum/ family.

It's Christmas, I awake in my cot a few mtrs from my sleeping parents.
I hear the jingle-jangle of sweet bells then a tapping on the roof...
As I gaze between the bars of my crib a form in sepia-shades fading in and out appears at the end of the carriage and approaches the doorway to my/ our room.

It is indistinct yet has a red/ black and white coloration...it is a humanesque figure, with a large frame and black boots.
It's Santa Claus,
I have never told anyone about this but this memory has been with me and it wasn't until I was old enough to buy the marketing hype that I realised the vision was what it was...
I have told my closest friend and my mother of this memory and have been ridiculed.

I don't how/who it is or what it is.
For a long time as a child I hotly remonstrated that Santa existed because of this memory.
Now that I am older I just wonder what went wrong

Anyway, thanks for the thread.
This is the internet, I don't care what people think

I clearly remember my mom using her fingers and glide them around my eyes and forehead because that would put me to sleep. I was under 2 because my brother wasnt in the picture yet.
I also remember riding in between my mom and dad in the front seat of their truck as the were rushing me 91 miles away through a snowstorm and we had a snowplow clear the road the whole way there plus we had a state patrol escorting us because I had spinalmenangitis.
I was 9 months old.
I remember quite a bit from my early childhood yrs.

I clearly remember something that occured when I was 2 yrs old. I remember that in our small kitchen, my mother always kept the potatoes and onions in a bottom drawer of a cabinet. I remember opening the cabinet and taking bites out of the potatoes and my mother yelling at me. Apparently I had done that quiet often, but I really only remember that one time.
I know that I was two yrs old at the time, because that is the only time that we had ever lived in a trailer home. It was in Annapolis, not far from the army base my father was stationed at in Maryland. They actually bought a home on my 3rd birthday that grew up in until I was 20 yrs old.

Come to think of it, the only things I remember from my earliest memories are when I was getting scolded. I guess they are burned into my memory. LOL

Let me recall... yes going with my dad and leaving with my mom... remember it clearly!

That part I'm kidding about, however as a few have mention already, while in the womb, maybe 2 months before being born. Remember voices and excitement around me.. I suspect it was around Christmas someone saying this is for him when he is born. Humm..

The day I was born.. very painful.. remember this pressure on my head in two different spots. My mother told me they had to use forcepts(sp) to pull me out. Bastards! I did'nt want to leave.
When I told her I remember that, she said your crazy. then I went on to tell her others events and she said how is it that you remember these things. Starting at just a week old and knowing that once my mother pick me up I was about to get a warm sensation inside of me.. I was breast feed. That feeling lasted only a short time when I recall her coming into the living room that she put my Bassinet near the fireplace to keep me warmer when I recall her letting out a horrible scream that caused me to start crying as well and remember everyone in the house were yelling and my mother continue to scream... (while she was bending over to pick me up with her back to the fireplace her nightgown caught on fire)
From that point on I remember me crying alot with hunger pains (this was when she was in the hospital with 30-40% burns on her back and legs.) From that point on I was given some nasty formula that caused me to have hugh stomach cramps and I would cry until I fell to sleep in pain. Of course I only knew that as a infant, but nobody else did(how could they).. I was not what my mother would of provided had she been there. What seem like forever, I felt what it was like to be force to consume this formula and have the results later.. I was not a happy baby. Maybe that why at 56 yrs old I'm really cranky today if I get hungry!

From that point on I still remeber events that I can blow my mother away with what I recall
Even to this day she just shakes here head in disbelief.
