Its going to be interesting to see how the 2012 and "alien invasion" scenario plays out
around dec 21st this year! What a way to instill fear in people and get them running
behind big brother and the military to "protect" them.

I just sort of skimmed through this thread as its a long one. Thought some might be interested in know that back in 1991 SEGA released a LaserDisc based arcade game named "Time Traveler" that used the same sort of technique [ mirror projection ] to simulate a Hologram. Having played it on many occasions over the years I can say it really did a convincing job so long as you looked at it straight on. It wasn't much fun to play but pretty cool for its time.

Seems it was more of a SEGA tech demo than anything.

Here are a few links and clip for the curious among us

probably been mentioned already, but considerable porn potential with this technology.........

Well, here we go people. Realistic holograms are now being projected easily enough that they can "raise a rapper from the dead". How much reality that you witness is real?

Of course, Project Blue Beam comes immediately to mind.....I have also included the link to the youtube video, the "ghost appearance" happens at 33:05 if you are interested. You can see through it....Im not sure if thats how they intended it or if they "dialed it down" for the ghostly effect.

Dam* that was sick. Id like to see more sideshots to check out the 3-D'ishness

It was a flat image projected onto the stage.
You can see the light underneath his feet, under the stage, at times.
There are some shots of the "performance" where it shows him and Snoop on an angle, and you can clearly see the image being projected is 'flat' and not 3D.

Either way it doesn't matter, because what's happened now is a new round of conspiracy theories have erupted saying how he will return in 2014 or 2016.
How he is alive.
There is even one video on Youtube which shows Tupac having some make up and other special effects, fake bits, etc put on for some music video or movie that he stared in.
Something around his neck, and they use that and the alleged image of his body after his autopsy, to "prove"(in their own little delusional world) that the autopsy photo is fake, therefore his not dead.
Well duhh, we all knew the photo of his body after the autopsy was fake. It's bleeding obvious. They don't release photos like that.

And to top it off, Suge Knight has been on the radio saying how he doesn't believe Tupac is dead and he could still be alive, because nobody saw Tupacs body, and the mortition who was meant to do the cremation was paid $3 million, and has disappeared.

In other words, Suge Knight is doing his own bit of creative marketing to increase sales. Duhhh.

I used to think project blue beam was all bull. Now? I see it as a real possibility because of this technology. As my husband told me the other night, all they have to do is project an image of Virgin Mary into the sky and people will flip out. This technology can be used in dangerous ways to influence and lie to people of this earth. As someone who believes in UFO's, doesn't it make one wonder what is projected into the sky at night sometimes?

I'm pretty sure people will think something's up with the large helicopters hovering up there carrying a giant screen. Humidity and dust particles in the air would be a dead giveaway to the projection's origin as well. Also being outside you can't control lighting conditions, the glare off the moon, the blurring of stars as they pass though the screen and the reflection of urban light pollution on the screen would make it painfully fake looking.

Also as an aside to all those people saying things along the lines of "if this is commercial now, the military probably had this in the 80's" This technology dates back to the 19th century and has been used in parlour tricks and magic shows for years. The only thing that's improved is the resolution of the projections.

Some people theorize that this is why they are spraying barium into the atmosphere (chemtrails). Apparently it will act like a big projection screen for these artificial images. I don't know much about that, so I can't say whether it's a pile of crap or not.

Just did a bit of research, the Tupac show was done using a special effect used often in magic called Pepper's Ghost...

"In 2012, a commercial version of Pepper's ghost was used to project an image of deceased rapper Tupac Shakur onto the stage at Coachella"
en.wikipedia.org...

Interesting read, and I just learned something about magic that I was unaware of

I guess that explains the mylar screens used that I read about?

Anyways as others have said, this wasn't a real hologram and in fact the technology used can be traced as far back as the 1860s. Only recently have they started to use projectors to create the effect, but really even at that this is not new. There have been other bands who have used similar effects long before this show.

Thank you. This wasn't some crazy breakthrough everyone. It WASNT a 3D hologram. It was a projection, like what you see at the theatres. I bet the average scientist/effects guy could do the same thing with a few thousand bucks.
edit on 19-4-2012 by capone1 because: (no reason given)

Thats what they want you to believe.

"Its all smoke and mirrors"

When is the last time "smoke and mirrors" cost half a mil?

This was on a grander scale rather than some night club act.

this thing can be seen at all angles.

THIS IS A TEST RUN FOR BLUE BEAM

I really hope you're being sarcastic.

Ignoring the complete insanity of chemtrails on its own, even if something like that were to exist they would have to line themselves up in a perfect plane to act as a screen, if not the image would be heavily distorted and obviously fake. I'd assume most of the crazies who believe in chemtrails are also deluded/paranoid enough to believe that the PTB/NWO/Magical men have the ability to bend matter to their will and get these barium particles to line up in a planar arrangement so I'm sure there's some theory out there about it.

The amount of fear, misleading information and paranoia that is spread by some posters here makes me physically sick. First of all this wasn't even a hologram, you guys really need to learn the difference between a projection and a hologram. Secondly, this is not new technology, it's something that has been around for over 100 years now.

I'm starting to wonder how some of you guys can live your life in such fear and paranoia. You question literally everything that happens, you refuse to believe the most basic of explanations and you choose to ignore pure facts in favour of your wild imaginations, why?

I'm with you on that one. There are so many people on here who can't accept the fact that their life sucks because they're idiots so they blame all of their problems on the imaginary all knowing all powerful groups who make it their mission to silence them. It allows them to feel superior because they must be special for these "powers that be" to devote all their resources to keeping them quiet. They know these big secrets and the rest of us are idiots for not realizing that every thing that's ever happened in the history of the universe is the doing of some form of government agency. I find it hilarious when the people who tell you to "wake up and open your eyes" are usually the most weak willed, closed minded and easily lead sheeple you'll ever meet. They believe science, logic and reality are all lies/conspiracies against them, but they watched a youtube video one day and now they know the "truth".

I'd like to see this technology used on someone we are sure is dead. Like JFK. Given the persistant rumors that Tupac faked his death, I find it easier to believe that he has returned and is messing with our heads.

And how are you sure he is dead? Tupac got killed and many think he is still alive despite the autopsy picture. Was the choppy JFK assassination footage sufficient enough to fulfill your fear mongering needs? Or could it possibly have been a massive conspiracy that involved manipulated film and actors?

I wonder if they could make a hologram reenactment of the Zapruder film. That would be pretty weird, but somehow interesting.

Tupac never went away. Eight posthumous albums have been released to date – two more than the man managed in his lifetime – often with conspiracy-baiting titles such as Still I Rise and Tupac Resurrection. All went top 10 in the US, and they're merely the tip of the gargantuan industry that has thoroughly excavated every possible line of profit from the creative detritus Tupac left behind.

In the light of this merrily unceasing gravy train, it's perhaps a bit rich that anyone, anywhere, is only now criticising Hologram Tupac for making money off a dead man; the past 16 years have been an object lesson in music industry exploitation
