In the US's current nuclear weapons there is a componet called cloudbank. part of a implosion fission-fusion bomb relys on the trans mission of xrays to the secondary implosin part of the bomb. the nutron and xray flux causes the Plutonium/duturium pit to implode and undergo fusion.

every one knows what Areo Gel is im sure. well this intresting stuff can be made with 'special' metals and gases to give it very special properties. I belive they have some how impregnated it with H3 as well as making it transparent to nutrons and xrays.

before this CLOUD BANK there were heavy foams and plastics used to chanel the xrays to the secnday, i belive with this new matreal they solved a nutron source(from the reaction of the primary undergoing fision) as well as making the weapons lighter and possibly stronger

***MOD EDIT***
Not an Introduction Thread
*Closing Thread*

The Introduction Forum is for introductions To tell something about you; not to start a thread about a topic.“Intro threads” that are really “topic threads” will be removed.
Welcome to ATS, it’s time to introduce yourself.

You have posted what could be a very interesting topic in the "Introductions thread". This area is solely for introducing yourself (as you can see by browsing through other Introduction threads by new members). We apologize for this inconvenience, but its a necessity for a website as large as ours. After you have managed to get 20 posts under your belt, you can then start your own threads in their appropriate areas.

Strict code's like this are in place to help keep the machine 'running smoothly'. One of these policies is that members need to post their thoughts in the appropriate areas. I'm sure you'll understand the necessity for us having rules like this. It helps keep all the great threads and topics in their perspective areas of interest and not all lumped together, making it difficult to find when wanting to make additional comments.

With that said, I'm going to have to close this thread as it does not comply with the above stated rules. After you have managed to get 20 posts under your belt, start your own thread in one of the appropriate areas as we'd love to hear more on this subject you originally posted.

You have obtained enough reply post points to start your own thread in it's appropriate area

Thread closed, you can contact me by a private message for more information if needed after you have read the links provided above. Or you can also contact staff by alerting them here Complaints and Suggestions

Have any actual info or links to prove your claim? Spell check is a nice feature as well.

Great technical details.

I am not sure what you expect from us, I can't post opinions on technical details I don't know.
Great thread anyway.
BTW it is ''Neutron'', not ''nutron''.

edit on 15-4-2012 by swan001 because: wrote ''can'' instead of ''can't''. BIG difference!

[more

where is the spell check button? (never said i was a spelling master
)

what kind of sources do you want? pictures of the inside of a nuclear weapon?(i kid)

if you read up on aero gel and some of its upcoming aplications, as well as the waythey can 'dope' it.

and the Teller bomb used a peanut shaped foam xray guide. so if they can use something lighter and even more transparent to xrays, as well as help make neutrons all the better

Just to let you know. This is the ATS Introduction Forum. You have enough posts to start a thread, wrong forum.

Unless you want to see your first thread go *poof*, you may want to ask a MOD to move it to the proper forum.

Very cool, man.
What do you want us to say? Can't debate, you're the expert. I don't know what to say except: ''Thanks for the info''.
Thanks for the info.

This forum topic: ''Introductions: New members, stop by and say hello!''
At least, he's saying ''hello'' with a fusion-bomb-explosion-like passion!
