I thought most of you ATS members would appreciate a great philosophical movie about God, life, and death especially this one. This movie is very powerful and will keep you going with it's dialogue alone because after all it's basically about two people in a room with their opposing beliefs.

It's 2 am and I'm quite tired. Frankly I don't want to say anymore than I already have. I don't want to spoil the movie for you folks because I know most of you all WILL enjoy it just as I have. Honestly, the movie was over before I knew it and I wished it had been longer than it was. But I will say this, the acting is nicely done by Tommy Lee Jones and Samuel L. Jackson.

Here is the IMDb information about the movie;

The Sunset Limited

I wanted to add another called "the man who fell to earth." Very good and was recommended by a previous member, then I watched, and now passing it on.

Man, I love ATS

Tommy And Sam J. ohh yeah. renting it this weekend, thank you.

May I throw in Contact, I know its about space, and Vega, but also speaks of God, and beliefs of what may, and may-nots.

Good thread and advice, S&F

I've seen Contact and The Man from Earth and I'm sure 90% of the people on ATS have as well. Although, I appreciate you bringing them both up because they are indeed both great movies.

I brought up Sunset Limited because of the fact it had very little IDMb ratings and since it's only a TV movie apparently it would be quite obvious why it's so underrated. The movie is fantastic and many of you guys and gals will just love it just as I have.

Also, you spoke of renting the movie. I provided a torrent in which the movie can be downloaded from free so I have to ask, how come you don't use torrents to watch movies?

Get back to us once you watch it. It would be good to have other members of ATS giving their opinion on how good the movie was for them. The more the better, this is one movie I would like for as many people as possible from ATS to see.

I heard about this. It's written by the awesome Cormac McCarthy who wrote the novels The Road, No Country For Old Men, All The Pretty Horses and a bunch that weren't adapted into movies, like the amazing Blood Meridian. This was originally a play, I believe.

I had forgotten all about this, so thanks for the heads up. And I noticed the DVD has commentary with Tommy Lee Jones, Sam Jackson and McCarthy himself, which is cool because he doesn't do a lot of interviews.

Torrents are files uploaded online by users;

Can be anything from Movies, Games, Programs, Music, etc. Basically you get get them for free, even full version programs as long as they have a crack keygen along with it.

I used to be in your position my friend, thinking torrents are hard to understand and I didn't bother trying with them. Truth is, they arn't hard at all.

Download Vuze and install it. Link below; Once you click it a window will open. Click the Orange Vuze Free Download button on the right side. You'll see it once the window opens. Once you're down download, proceed to the next link below it.

Download Vuze

Sunset Limited Torrent Download

Once you open the second link it will take you to a torrent site which is kickasstorrents.com which can also be accessed by simply typing in www.kat.ph for short. From this site, you can download torrents. My advice is, you can download anything you want but always check comments, and download the torrent with the most seeds because the more seeds a torrent has the faster it will download. Depending on your connection speed, you can download a movie in 20 minutes or less.

Anyways once you open the second link, underneath the title The Sunset Limited[2011]DvDrip[Eng]-FXG on the top of the page it will display the seeds and leechers and below that there is a "Download Torrent" button, click that and it will open up a box asking if you want to "Safe or open file", click OPEN because by doing that you're opening it with Vuze thus sending the torrent to the Vuze program you downloaded for downloading. Once the download is done, you can play it and watch it and ENJOY.

Now you know how to download torrents. Hopefully. Any question, feel free to ask me.

No problem. Everybody deserves to know how to use torrents properly. It's a good thing to know how to use to be able to get by on those boring days.

Just remember to only use kat.ph and read comments, the comments will often tell you if its fake or not because fakes often comes with viruses. Not only that but the comments also tell you the quality of the movie is.

Anything questions at all if you're ever stumped on something, feel free to PM me. I log on ATS daily, sometimes a few times a day. So you can expect a reply from me within a day.

I never heard of Cormac McCarthy before until I read the reviews for the movie. Judging from the reviews I'd say he has a quite a reputation. Only reason I probably never heard of him is because I don't read books.

But I just may look into Cormac McCarthy after all and see what he really is all about.

Thanks and I really appreciate it.

I just hope I'm not the only person who thinks every ATS member should see this movie. It truly is a masterpiece.

What I really like about it, is I could relate to Jones on every level because I was once in his place. Knowledge to me is a burden. It's no wonder why there is a saying; Ignorance is bliss. I feel like an outcast, different a lot of people in this world from what I see especially over facebook. Not many people realize the reality of the world they live in as well as it's illusions. For example, someone who posts pointless status about how their day goes 2-3x a day as if someone actually cares what they think. Ignorance truly is a bliss.

Though I would hate to discourage anyone from reading, if books aren't your thing Cormac McCarthy might not be the best. His style can be a little rough to get into. If you haven't seen The Road or No Country for Old Men, then try those (I'd say No Country first), they're great. But the adaptations are pretty spot on, so if you've seen them you might get a little bored. Blood Meridian is incredible, it has one of the most memorable characters in Judge Holden and it is the only book where the violence can evoke a kind of visceral reaction. It did take me a few tries to finish though. If you do check him out, let me know how it works out.

I picked up Sunset Limited at the store I work at, I'm excited to see it.

And yes, I'm a huge Breaking Bad fan.

You wouldn't be discouraging anyone from reading. Books are really not my thing. I don't know why, but I'm not a fan of fiction books. Not only that but ADHD/ADD also plays a role in it as well and because of that, for some reason I'm unable to stick through with a book from the beginning to end. I guess it has to do with me being forgetful with the overwhelming feeling that I would never be able to understand the book once I finish it, thus making it feel pointless to even have consider reading the book.

So I stick with movies, documentaries, some T.V shows. The only reading I do, would be research and such into things that interest me over the internet which is why I'm on ATS. There's lots of intelligent people here and most importantly, I love how they deny ignorance when it comes to debating but not everyone is like that. Being an agnostic, I guess I don't have to explain why I do the amount of research I do and I've been going at it for nearly 10 years or more now.

I've seen the movies you spoke of based on the novels of Cormac McCarthy and both of them are great and I can assure you will enjoy the movie you brought home tonight just as you enjoyed his novels. I really Wish I could even read a novel a week because if I could, I'd definitly be getting his novels because all three movies I have seen so far based on his novels are truly a masterpeice.

I really wish I could read the book "Blood Meridian" that you spoke of, but I just can't stick with reading. Maybe someday it will come out as a movie? Who knows, but only one can hope right? I actually am looking forward to wanting to see more movies based on Cormac McCarthy's novels. If you know anymore, please let me know because I will definitly watch it.

As for Breaking Bad....ONE of the BEST shows ever made. Honestly, I can't choose between Breaking Bad or House to be my personal favourite because it's hard to choose from either but I love them both. It's good see a Breaking Bad fan on these forums. I'm stoked for next season.

Just got done watching it. Incredible all around. I normally don't have a lot of respect for Sam Jackson, but when he wants to (Hard Eight, Black Snake Moan) he can bring it and he really brought it here. Jones' speech at the end was like a sledgehammer. Amazing, thank you again.

There's been talks of making Blood Meridian into a movie. I don't know if it'll ever happen and I don't know if it can be good. The book is almost like reading a nightmare, that'd be hard to capture. Luckily, McCarthy has written a screen play called "The Counselor." It's going to be directed by Ridley Scott and the plot is pretty Breaking Bad-ish. A lawyer gets into the drug game and things get messy.
