Israeli troops destroy four Palestinian homes and 52 electricity pylons

It is just now breaking that Israeli forces have razed four homes of Palestinians along with 52 electricity pylons near the town of Bethlehem in the occupied West Bank, according to Palestinian witnesses and a correspondent for AFP. These activities are hardly surprising given that the state of Israel recently spat in the face of the international community by refusing to cooperate with a probe conducted by the United Nations Human Rights Council and banning them from entering to investigate illegal settlements. “At 4:00 am (0100 GMT) army tractors demolished four homes and 52 electricity pylons in the al-Makhrureh area of Beit Jalla,” Mazen al-Azzeh, coordinator of the Popular Campaign to Fight Settlements in Bethlehem, said to AFP. Al-Azzeh said that they were doing this to connect two illegal Israeli settlements which are currently 10 kilometers, or six miles, apart from each other. “They want to confiscate the land for settler purposes, to connect the settlement of Kfar Etzion and Har Gilo,” he said. The AFP correspondent reported that this demolition left the residents in the area without any electricity, which could have many negative impacts on the quality of life of these besieged peoples. “This is a mostly a Christian area,” al-Azzeh stated, adding, “As the world celebrates Easter, this is the Israeli government’s gift to the Palestinian Christian community.”

This is just sad, and infuriating. Everyone is screaming about how Iran "Might" want to "Maybe" get nuclear bombs, all the while you have the biggest concentration camp in the world getting bigger, and anyone who points it out is labelled "Anti-Semitic".

if america had any sort of real investigative journalist, they would ask the president directly on the record and on television what he thought of this.

of course they'll get met with usual "it's not conductive to peace", but if assad of syria was bulldozing people out of their homes and knocking out electricity, he would be charged with another war crime.

but it would be fun watching a politician justify that the human rights commission has no right to investigate israel and then citing this as an example.

Ok, annexing the West Bank was all fine and well, but knocking down peoples homes? Really? If theyre going to annex the land at least annex the people and give them citizenship and then you won't have to knock peoples homes down and everyone walks away a winner.

Obama is a politician, they do not give a damn about anything except getting re-elected and their pensions when they retire. He's more of a celebrity than a president and he gets more facetime in front of the cameras than Lindsey Lohan appears in tabloids. Politician means "liar" in every language.

Not to sound condescending but, you do realize they've been knocking down/taking over Palestinians homes for a long time right?
