Thank you SO, any idea what the point is? Hack? Marketing ploy?

Isn't it illegal to impersonate a federal organization?

I know very little about web site design, but something about this doesn't seem right.

Edit: Oh and if this was done by an actual European agency do you think maybe they do things differently over there? If this is a joke somebody is in hot water right?

Ya, I'm pretty sure it's illegal to Impersonate a federal organization... That ACTUALLY EXISTS. That's the loophole that proves its a hoax... IMHO. They figured they cannot get in trouble for making a bs terror security blah blah blah group. Hijacking those seals on the other hand...

It's rather clear:

(1) The agencies do not exist.

(2) The copy on the seizure image is clearly nothing official.

(3) The server-based redirect to the "seizure.html" page is not the methodology used in official domain seizures.

yes we all agree in this point, this is totally a joke.... , i just think is strange the DTV crew made this, like people are saying here.... but iff did, they are really dumb .

It's been like 14 hours now, their FB account also gone from what I hear & Dtv's Twitter is silent.

I just don't get it. Why haven't they responded to what's going on?

2 they are thinking what they are coming up new to say to the public, iff the problem is no internet access , it is not true because today you have access for internet everywhere !

Yes it really exist, but by the name "Joint Terrorism Task Force" JTTF ,and they have some 3rd parties task forces , like child pornography task force, street task force, and so on...but on the site doesn't say anything of

Yes you're right about the internet security terrorism task force.There is a website that use that name. They sale survivor stuffs and gears. They even have a facebook account. The real organization is call Cyber-Terror Task Force.

Why? It is a hoax. Something also NO ONE seems to have mentioned in this thread is that 23 USC does not go up to 981 or 714. USC 23 is highway and infrastructure and only goes up to 610.

The feds would not "seize" a Facebook page or a twitter account. They could of course detain, arrest, or otherwise prevent an owner of such accounts from accessing their FB page or twitter acct, in which case their pages would simply languish unattended, but they wouldn't seize them.

This all looks very much like the owner/operator of Disclose.tv decided to close their own accounts and leave that image up on their site and allude to being seized. If it's their idea of a joke it's a bad one, but for all we know they are running out on their investors, or got sued in civil court for copyright infringement - who knows? Maybe they just ran out of money and wanted to screw with everyone's head.

One thing we can say, absolutely 100%, is that the US Department of Justice did not seize this domain. Refer to the USDOJ links I posted earlier. Every seizure made by the feds has been posted on their site with a corresponding PR notice. Those have always been made the same day as the seizure's have taken place. There has been no mention by them of seizing Disclose.tv.

1) Look at the shadows behind the top logo's they are very rough and if you compare it to a real seized image you will see the shadows are very exact and uniform.

2) Several months back Disclose.tv announced big changes coming including a new look, they termed this Disclose.tv 2.0

3) Over the past few months they have upgraded parts of the site boosting the upload file size to 500 megabytes

4) The main uploader on the site has been down for a while forcing users to use the old uploader to post videos and the comments have been turned off on all videos for a while also.

5) After the Upgrade announcment several new posters arrived flooding the site with videos until they were listed as the Top Posters but after following up on the posters profiles there were no Videos, Audios, Or Images in their Profiles like normal Users but the profiles said 0 videos, 0 audio, 0 images as if the data was being kept off site.

6) On April 2nd one of the Mod's made a post claiming something was very wrong there, as if they had stumbled upon something, another Mod said goodbye after seeing that post, and other Mod's said he should have contacting them first before posting in the public forum or better yet got a hold of them on skype. (Many thought that was an April Fools Joke a day late but that person was in the UK so who really knows)

7) I have heard that one of the Mod's Posted a farwell message right before the shutdown and that many mod's and users were angry.

8) My Personal Opinion... I think the owner Lukas sold the site or at least part of it which explains the most recent changes and the upgrades which obviously would cost more money on a monthly basis, and to upgrade that site to a new system you would be talking about moving terabytes of data and thats not an easy task and the entire site would probably be down for a while during that move.

9) DTV was a great site with up-to-date breaking news and Ufo videos ect... I Hope It Comes Back Online.

10) Once again look at the un even (sloppy looking) shadows behind the logos on DTV's Seized image then compare it to actual know seizure images, they are very even and uniform! (Just Saying I hope it a hoax to launch the New & Improved Disclose.tv 2.0)

US Government Seizing Internet Domains

Executive Summary – The US government is seizing internet domains. If the domain is not in the USA, the registrant is not in the USA, the hosting for the domain is not in the USA they will still seize the website. They are going after domains that sell copyright goods illegally or have links to copyright goods. Such goods include knockoffs, music, books and videos.

What Next – This is the introduction to internet censorship. The Kenyan without a birth certificate has finally figured out the internet is going to be his undoing. Now he wants to censor it. The copyright violation is the start. Everyone thinks that is justified since it is illegal. First off the Fed has no business spending time and money protecting private industry. If they did not do this then the private industry would figure out methods to combat piracy. Now all they do is lobby. Lobbying is lawful bribery for special considerations from a corrupt government, nothing more and nothing less. Lobbying is not constitutional.

Well This domain seizing breaks international laws. The fed has no such authority to proceed without a trial in a court of competent jurisdiction outside of its borders. The trick here is to get the sites to block out usa ip addresses. The govt is saying if the site is accessible from the USA then they have jurisdiction. Wrong. The site is not operating in the USA, the USA ip address is going out of the USA to access the website. Big difference. Once again the USA is operating in violation of international laws and just doing what it wants. The domain grabbing will soon be directed at websites who they say spread false rumors like Obama is not qualified to be president. This will of course open the door for other nations to do this as well. The USA will become as big of an internet bully as the people let them become. If you do not stand up to them then they will walk all over everyone. Their goal is obviously a world wide reign of lawless domination. To let them prevail all one need do is nothing!

This will give you more info. I still think it's wrong, but at the end of the day the only way to work around it is to stop using .com, .net, etc. You'll see why if you read this : www.digitaltrends.com...

So what we basically have to do to put and end to this is start using different domains.

America hosts the DNS root servers that resolves a domain name to its relevant IP address and have jurisdiction over any changes that get requested from global mirrors such as Anycast. So in theory it could seize the domain name but the site should still be accessible via its direct IP address. A good example of this would be ‘wikileaks’ which you used to only be able to access from its IP address but not its domain name. This has changed now (for whatever reason) and you can now access it via its domain name again.

So with this thought in mind, and the fact that D.TV is hosted in Germany, I'm veering towards it being a hack or transition stunt to version 2 of their D.TV website as the USA couldn't take down wikileaks despite that site releasing (what I would imagine) to be a lot more sensitive information such as the Bradley Manning leak. Unless of course that was just a big hoax in itself. So many bluffs and double bluffs... my head is going to asplode.

Having said all that… maybe something really monumental got posted on D.TV and there was no way they would allow it in a sort of ‘act now and deal with the legal ramifications later’ once they work out the escape route.

I think I know the basics of what I’m talking about here but I’ve had a couple of beers now so if someone in the know could verify or correct me then please do.
