If the government and Wall St are going to stick with the ridiculous lie that our economy is Capitalist, then sure, we're anti-capitalists.

I don't see a problem with taxing financial transactions, why should they not be taxed? I'm asking genuinely by the way not to create argument.

The world has been given a bait and switch where Communism was concerned. People had an instinctive understanding of how they wanted to treat each other; they wanted to live in small, egalitarian, decentralised communities. The Illuminati saw that, built an institutionalised ideology around it which sounded as though it was going to give the people what they wanted, but in fact ultimately gave them the exact opposite, and then fed it to one of their sleeper agents for public distribution. The name of said agent was Karl Marx. There were two other such mouthpieces in Russia, as well; Leon Trotsky, and Vladimir Lenin.

There are people within Occupy who want real Communism; or more specifically, the instinctive, compassionate way of living and being, that people wanted before they knew about Communism, in terms of that being what Marx referred to it as. Feeding people who need food, irrespective of whether or not they can economically afford it, simply on the basis of recognising that they are fellow human beings; and also that ultimately, if we have a scenario where any of us are able to go hungry, it threatens all of us. That is one good example of the sort of practical way of life that I'm talking about, here.

www.abovetopsecret.com... - This is a post in another thread which I wrote a while back, and I would encourage you to read it, if you are willing. It offers more of an illustration of what I at least consider a practical Leftist lifestyle to look like, on the ground.

And like the blogger in my OP, when people show up to these "trainings" and realize all they're being asked to do is buy an Obama button and sticker they'll walk away. The video is good, pure Occupy language and it appeals to that want to get out on the streets but fails to deliver action. People are increasingly less dumb, sorry for your luck.

The blogger in the OP is one guy...and even he admits that he was probably the only one out of more than a hundred people at the meeting he went to that was previously involved in Occupy.

The goal here isn't to use the existing Occupy members....it is to use the movement to create an alternate and more organized movement.

Believe me...they didn't want "real" Occupy members to come to these meetings. I'm not sure you know what "co-opt" really means.

Don't patronize me, you know full well I understand what co-opt means fully. You know that I'm far from stupid. You're just mad that Obama is exposed...again. When are you going to realize that he is no better than any of the rest?

This is not a "slam Occupy" forum, understood. However, many people have been feeling this way about "Occupy" from the start. It's nice that you are willing to point this out as being separate from "Occupy", but we'll see how well you can convince others that it's not just an Obama front as a whole. The majority of this movement seem to love the guy (Obama), another group who also tried to join "Occupy" aren't even allowed to mention other certain political figures without getting the boot.

The Occupy Orlando organizer had a megaphone and was calling for re-election of Obama. I have always been convinced that much of the Occupy movement is at the very least pro Obama. Maybe he is not "left enough" for many of them, which I find amusing as he is the most leftist Prez ever in the US.

What are you talking about? Karl Marx is well known as "the father of Communism". Perhaps you meant that people really want socialism, which is a precursor to communism. Marx and Engels co-wrote the "Communist Manifesto" and Marx died even before the official formation of the Communist Party. Or maybe you meant that Marx's theories have never been fully implemented.

from the website How Stuff Works

The political theory of socialism, which gave rise to communism, had been around for hundreds of years by the time a German philosopher named Karl Marx put pen to paper. Marx, also known as the father of communism, spent most of his life in exile in Great Britain and France. He wrote the Communist Manifesto in 1848, which later served as the inspiration for the formation of the Communist Party. Communism is also known as "Marxism."

Marx believed that the government would have to control all means of production so that no one could outdo anyone else by making more money. Unfortunately, that proves to this day to be more difficult than he might have realized.
Marx described three necessary phases toward achieving his idea of utopia.
•Phase 1: A revolution must take place in order to overthrow the existing government. Marx emphasized the need for total destruction of the existing system in order to move on to Phase 2.
•Phase 2: A dictator or elite leader (or leaders) must gain absolute control over the proletariat. During this phase, the new government exerts absolute control over the common citizen's personal choices -- including his or her education, religion, employment and even marriage. Collectivization of property and wealth must also take place.
•Phase 3: Achievement of utopia. This phase has never been attained because it requires that all non-communists be destroyed in order for the Communist Party to achieve supreme equality. In a Marxist utopia, everyone would happily share property and wealth, free from the restrictions that class-based systems require. The government would control all means of production

I am not sure where you get your ideas on communism? Are you saying the people wanted "real communism" before Marx put his pen to paper? Then if Marx's theories are not the "real communism", what are they? The Communist Manifesto IS the real communism. If you feel that historical communism is not the real Utopia that people want, then don't mix up terms like that.

As far as I'm concerned, Obama is the "left" taking over the Federal Govt. Perhaps some leftists are more "left" than the DSA? Some more communist than they are socialist? As communism IS more "left" than socialism. But even Marx said that socialism is a bridge to the more drastic and revolutionary communism. Maybe in that context, Obama isn't as left as his supporters wish him to be, but the goal is the same. Marx and Lenin both suggested that there would be a leader over the Proletariat, so it's always funny to me when I hear people who insist that Occupy is a leaderless organization.

That doesn't have anything to do with whether or not he was an Illuminati shill.

I don't call it class warfare or elitism, when Occupy are upset about their movement potentially being hijacked and defamed by government shills and infiltrators, personally.

I wouldn't bother "debating" with some people, especially when some aren't interested in such, even though it may appear so. People on the right and left cannot seem to grasp the concept that Occupy is rejecting the system because it is broken of course that means that they personally cannot see that the system is broken. Some are convinced to their core that there is a right and wrong side even though everyday we see further and further proof that there doesn't even exist much of a right and left side, that there exists only money.
