Iron Mike Was The Meanest

Just saw a thread about Iron Mike wanting to shoot someone. I had a pro-boxer in my family when I was a kid and a watched a tonne of boxing tapes. Iron Mike was awesome. Its sad he is such a jackass.

Anyway, I would rather the guy shoot me than punch me when he was in his prime. Im guessing there are not too many boxing fans on ATS but if you like a knock out punch Mikes was the best.

I can't imagine what it would feel like to take a shot to the face from Mike. I'll bet any one of those KO punches in the vid would kill a normal man. I would probably cry if I had to fight Mike Tyson.

I agree. He could kill most mere mortals with one of those punches.

His uppercuts scare me the most.

He seems to punch like he is trying to kill the guy more than knock them out.

My brothers were really into boxing when i was younger, they would get every pay per view fight. I remember when mike was knocked out by Buster Douglas. You never even hear about him lol. He lost his belt almost before the new video games came out with his face on it.

I remember that too. I was like 10 or something. It was pretty much downhill for Mike after that.

Agreed.....In his best Tyson was one of the best boxers the world's ever seen!

He was great for his time but I don't think he would have done so well these days.

The meanest? Nah, check out Sonny Liston. I don't even know if he could be classified as human.

Mike has said in several interviews that he tried to emulate showmen like Liston. He was really just a student of boxing history, the man was Liston's mouth with Dempsey's style.
