It is when the polar poles change for the earth

December 21, 2012, a shift may occur in oursevles, or the so called higher self, "Subconscience". We are currently in the 3rd dimension, and supposedly, transform to the 4th dimension.

That kind of it, but definatly not ALL of it.

There is no END at all during the period of 2012.

The age of Aquarius would be the most probable change to take plcae at the end of the long scount calender.

The reason I believ that this calendar is actually of any resonance and importance to us in this day and age is that....well put yourselves in the shoes of the Mayans who constructed this calendar. They could just have easily made this calendar stop at the 10th century, and save themselves the work of extending it beyond untill 2013......so the question I have is why would a race of people construct a calendar to end in 2013, surely if they believed they would be around to see this time, it would be a natural course of action to work and extend the calendar past 2013 and beyond. But they havent, and this concerns me, because these are a race of people who had incredibly advanced astorlogical knowledge and knowledge of the planets and of the constellations and mechanics of the universe around us......so we have a very knowledgable and spiritual people....who for sum reason we may never find out....have ended their calendar in 2013.

I could not even begin to theorize why they have done this, and it leaves a very interesting enigma for the rest of us. But with the earth, moon, sun and alignment of the planets being affected by a mysterious and as yet unnnacounted for tug of force, i do believe the calendar may point to an event of astrological significance, since their culture was so heavily steeped in astronomy and mystisism. This could be a major event such as the return of the much talked about planet X or nemesis(sister sun which is claimed to be a brown dwarf star), however it could indicate a new planetary alignment that may bring about the 'New age' or 'New cycle' in the heavens or on earth.

The mayan calender does not end in 2012, merely the great cycle or baktun ends. It then starts a new great cycle, as it has done before.

I believe that this step of human evolution has reached its full potention and now we are prepearing to make a jump for the next step.

So it can be called a "start of a New Age".

In this New Age, I believe, we would learn of how to use our true potential - not this 2-3% that we use now - to be really Humans, free, healthy and happy, not blind puppies that need to be cared of.

So we're kind of in beta Testing right now than we take a step into the next form of evolution or stage... sounds interesting.

I guess we are in the process of takeing that step right now.
Since late 90th there is certain information being released, that was kept secret before, about how one can become healthy and start revealing his real potential, developing the so-called paranormal powers. Obviosly those, who are keeping it, see that now ordinary people are becomeing ready for it.

Problem is, is this good or bad? What if we get sociopaths with psychic powers? Is this really that good?

Why believe the myans there were not even that great of a civilization anyway. The world will never end and the humans race will never be erased, All you people do is think in 6 dimensions there is so much more to every thing. Even remote viewers cannot experience the awesome Powers of space time, strings and electro-physics.

We do not live in a world of matter but a world of events, actions, and energy, we will not understand that until the door into the string world is opened.

Hey String Theory is fun but it hardly proves the Mayans were a stupid culture or "not even that great of a civilization anyway" as you put it. Nor does the String theory make you exempt from making ignorant and definitive statments such as "The world will never end and the humans race will never be erased".

Well we'll probably have the nuts who kill themselves thinking they'll wake up in the new age changed.
Then there's the ones who step in front of cars and buses thinking they can stop them with their mind now that they're in the fourth dimension or whatever.

Of course they'll be alot of people here on ATS making excuses as to why nothing happened. There'll be a bunch of threads titled:
"The Mayans may still be right"
Mostly explaining how it's not really 2012 yet.

"I feel different today. Does anyone else feel a change?"
There will be people who say that they do feel different. They think clearer. They can see things differently now. It'll all be in their minds though.

December whatever 2012 will come and go like yesterday came and went.

Those waiting for something spectacular to happen in 2012 will be disappointed. People should strive for perfection everyday and not wish that they'll get it all in one day. If only life were that simple.
People who believe the world is going to end that day should get a life.............and for goodness sake, live it. What if your 2012 is tomorrow?

I think at the end of the 5th age there will be massive disasters such as Tsunami's, F6 Tornados, Earthquakes, Hurricanes, etc. And it'll just wipe everyone out.

You also have to think about John Titor, if he is from 2036 then we know 2012 wont happen or some small things will happen that will kill a decent amount of people but not the worlds population. I think Nature is already warning us. Tsunami - Gulf & East Coast Hurricanes.

It is clearly a significant date for the calendar creators, just as January 1st, 2001 was for us. If the date passes without incident, there will be a global epidemic of 'I told you so's'. If indeed something big does occur, the people will complain that the authorities were lax in their preparations to deal with it. It is a lose/lose situation for any predictions.
