Some say it's the beginning of another age, others say it will be the end of humans (the world as we know it), or the end of all life on this planet.

I'd personally be surprised if we even survived to see that day. We have to make it past Bush's "nucular" madness first...

Thanks.

When is the end?

Is it when the Cubs win the world series?

The calendar day will come and we will all sleep in the dark.

When the sun rises the next day we will go on about our lives as if nothing happened at all.

But they know what happened, those little tiny people, they know!

When we come to the end of that calendar, the next
day will come as it always does.

The only reason the calendar ended was because
they ran out of rock to write it on and their arms
were tired of chiseling.

Nothing at all. If the Aztec civilization had survived, they'd be holding festivals and ceremonies and would have already made a new calendar.

I doubt the Aztecs would have done anything, as it was the Mayan calendar.

It is the beginning of a new age. If you look at how the calendar is set up, it goes in cycles, great cycles and so forth. Once it reaches the end of the last great cycle it starts again, this time in a new age. I believe it to be the Age of Pices next, or something similar.

I remember reading something on the net about the supposed libraries of the sphinx being explored on that day. That seems stupid to me b/c it's the mayan calendar--why would they predict an egyptian event?

I personally believe, like others, that it will be the beginning of a new age of thinking and existence. Perhaps there will be some sort of spiritual movement or something, i dont' know. But something will happen out of the ordinary.

The end of the calandar simply marks the "gods" return to earth!

The Age of Aquarius can mean the end of an era, (age of Pisces) and the beginning of another. Many feel the Age of Aquarius heralds the coming of the "end of times" as written in the Bible, others feel it is the dawning of the "new world order".

Toutatis seems to pass us every 4 years.

Asteroid 4179 Toutatis

It could hit us in 2012

Fear not, I hear Toutatis will not be a threat again till somewhere around the region of the year 2800.

EDIT: spelling errors, duh!
