The most memorable object on display in the Boonsboro Museum of History is a shriveled human arm, resting on pegs with a Civil War-era bullet lodged near where the elbow used to be. Its label mentions the nearby Battle of Antietam, where a local church "had all its pews filled with wounded soldiers, and outside the windows amputated arms and legs were piled high."

Doug Bast, the museum's curator and owner, told us that the bullet was added by him as a visual aid, and that the arm is not a Civil War relic at all, but a grotesque "initiation item" used by a turn-of-the-20th-century Masonic lodge in neighboring Williamsport. "It was very popular back then to have a skeleton to scare 'em," said Doug of the Freemasons. While some believe that the arm -- which really is a genuine human arm -- was originally severed from a soldier after the Battle of South Mountain, Doug thinks that it's just an everyday arm that came from a medical school.

Sounds like some Masons at the turn of the century liked to scare their candidates with part of a skeleton. Doesn't really seem like a big deal, if you ask me. You can buy an arm for $800 here. (same place Mythbusters buys their skeleton parts, IIRC… In fact, judging by their site, now when people say "it cost an arm and a leg" you can estimate that at $1350…)

I was thinking that some here might be able to connect the arm to Good Old Abe or something exciting. Maybe John Wilks.

No big deal OP, lots of 'social clubs' use rituals and human remains to entertain themselves, my mother inlaw is bringing eyeballs to her next tupperware party.

Guess you didn't read the article. The "Lincoln Bullet" is a bullet in the museum that is carved to look like Lincoln. Has nothing to do with the arm. (And nothing to do with Lincoln's assassination…)

Yes, this is an article, but is not breaking news. There is a difference.

And there is no mention of the Lincoln bullet in your opening post.

If you want to talk about the Lincoln bullet, the whole assassination was covered up as well...Instead do some research on JWB, and you will find out this whole thing is a mystery...The Illuminati had something to do with it as well even as far back as that...Rothschilds are sick individuals...

I just skimmed the article myself. It was mostly out of interest since my family is from the NE Oklahoma area and (just like everybody else believes) we are descended from Jesse James. In fact, my great grandfather's name was Jesse James, but I digress.

This is the first time I've ever read this particular story. I found it on Terry Melanson's website. I consider Terry to be reliable and accurate and even though someone else wrote this I find it believable.

Now I'm going to have to go back and read it!
