Great videos. what i heard yesterday sounds exactly like the 4th plane in this video at about 21 seconds in. A double booming sound.

Wonder what that was then?

I know when somethings not right when all the news channels jump on the story that it was just a distress call....One was hanging around the chopper as a distraction but the keen eyes of people on the ground were watching the second typhoon which was more interested in a silver object 35k up!

www.thisisbath.co.uk...

Thanks, that's definitely interesting, especially if there's more people that witnessed the same thing going on.

Thanks for posting this link, there are pictures posted on this and another thread of the same thing from another site, though this article gives it more weight.

Looks like there was more going on than reports suggest.

www.thisisbath.co.uk...

Residents from Peasedown to Weston saw and heard one of the Typhoon Eurofighters flying low over the city yesterday evening.

It was tracking a helicopter flying over the Bath area, but the other one of the pair appeared to be concentrating on a silver object much higher in the sky

But he added: “At the same time high above, another Typhoon, the shape is very distinctive, was seemingly buzzing a white object at about 35,000 ft. This white rocket-shaped object was in the NE and stationary. Clouds eventually obscured both but we had been watching for maybe five minutes. We were not seeing things!”

A witness on this website said: “My mother and sister also witnessed the silver floating object. They described it as shaped like a rocket, and that it moved horizontally, then stopped, then moved vertically up until they lost sight of it.”

Just been having a read through some of the reports and came across this video of the sound from Bath:

And this was recorded 12 hours earlier in Holland and lasted for about 15 minutes (EDIT:Local newspapers in Limburg where this video is taken have said the noise was caused by an emergency procedure at an energy plant several miles away, the release of steam causing the noise):

The general consensus is that 2 RAF Typhoon fighters went thru the sound barrier over land, this is not usually permitted, what is confusing is that they were apparently on their way to investigate a helicopter that had sent out a distress call, this was, allegedly,a false alarm, now I am not sure what a Typhoon could do to assist a chopper in trouble(whether they were flying supersonic or not!),They must have been scrambled in a hell of a hurry to investigatie a perceived threat, for example RAF aircraft are permitted to go supersonic over land to intercept an IDENTIFIED threat.
During the cold war, for example, our Lightnings and Phantoms would occasionally generate sonic booms to get to Russian Tu 95 Bears and ocassionaly their MIG escorts, that were probing UK air space.
Well we'll just have to keep an eye open here and ignore the MOD;s conclusion!

Here at this LINK you can see a 30second video of the Typhoons in action that created this supposed Sonic Boom.

This boom according to the Daily Mail was heard for over 150 miles....YEAH RIGHT!

Whats interesting about that link above is that if you scroll through the pictures you will see the helicopter and Typhoons in the air with a silver object far higher above them.

Some people were saying they were tailing it.

I know who i'd believe!

That video from Bath looks like it was taken in the summer.

As far as i am aware...and i might be wrong, but there are not trees in the UK at the moment that are in full bloom yet. Maybe a month from now but not yet.

Im going to keep posting this on every strange sound and booming noise thread. Its psychotronic sound effects from the same technology used to cause people's voices. SO if you want to verify what im saying, ask someone who hears voices until you find some that say they hear sound effects. its psychic technology and our world is meeting their reality.

I still want to know where that video of the guy in his back garden is... filmed the sound as it banged and there was also a flash of light... cannot find it ANYWHERE.

It was on C4 news last night

I am very near Bath and am often there, it looks just like it does now in the video, there is blue sky and blooms.

Found it here, looked more like a flash on tv as showed guy holding camera playing video. There is sort of a flash but could be a filming anomaly. Also looks a bit like lightning, could be the guy filmed weather then called ITV news with video?

I believe that there are many flowers/trees in bloom as i type this. Unless my eyes are deceiving me. (looks out the window at white and yellow blossom)

Has anyone heard of this sound being passed off as steam escaping before? I find that the story we here in the UK are given is far different than the explanation in Holland.

I have posted this on the previous page, with two videos and reports from people in that region, local small newspaper gave response.

The one in Holland happened 12 hrs before the noises across the UK

I don't know if this has been mentioned earlier I have not read all posts. However, why was a Miltary jet going supersonic to respond to an "emergency call" when supersonic transition is NOT PERMITTED by the CAA over land for this reason. it is only allowed out at sea.

So the real question is what was so important that required this pilot to circumvent the regulations by going supersonic over land????? that I feel is a much more interesting question!

Exactly man.... what reason was it.
A helicopter in distress? Hmmmmm

I doubt it.

Also why come from a few hundred miles away when there are already jets much closer to the area?

It depends on which RAF station has their fighters at readiness that day,it is normal for a fighter based at say Coningsby in lincolnshire to investigate a threat over the Scottish North Sea coast even though RAF Leuchars would be the nearest fighter base, simply because they haven't been slated to be on combat readiness that day.

Fair enough I guess, makes sense.
I understand not all jets are on permanent standby, but there are lots and lots of bases around this area (Oxfordshire) and also surrounding counties, just seems if there was "Trouble in Bath" why break the sound barrier and make such a racket when It's not necessary?

There was no need to come that far and have to get permission for something which was outlawed... creating sonic booms etc.

I just don't buy it to be honest.

We've heard nothing of the chopper or its pilot.....people are just happy to accept what the MOD have said.

I'm usually very sceptical and don't often get too involved in these threads.... there's just something about this that doesn't sit right, not only with me, but many people it seems.

Sorry, realised this after posting, not sure if these are both the sounds on these videos are from sonic booms or something else. There are a lot of reports of 'unexplained' sounds around the world recently, probably most are easily explained but again probably plenty that aren't.
