Has big oil, and a government that has sold us out to corporate interests doomed us all?

The earthquake activity around the world seems to be getting much worst than in the past. Here is a worldwide map of areas where hydraulic fracturing is occurring.



I pulled the pic from a website that is wondering if fracking is the cause of the sounds being heard worldwide and they also provide a map of where these sounds are being heard, here is the link:

So this practice is labeled as safe and effective, but is it??? Or have these oil and gas companies shattered parts of the earths crust? If so what can we expect?

Are the sounds being heard from the earth's crust? Are the seemingly increasing number of strong earthquakes directly from this practice?

Have they doomed us all? For the pursuit of profit?
