There is some sort of check list...but most people don't bother looking stuff up I'm afraid.

Here is Romney's file: LINK

Out of 125 statements, he only spoke the truth 23 times

"Romney 2012, because f*** logic!!"

The title of the thread is Democrats Declare "War on Moms".

Nobody said anything about taking away rights.

Hilary Rosen knew what she was saying.

She has been in the business for a long time.

She is attacking women who stay home and take care of the kids. That is outrageous!

She did make a ridiculous statement....stupid....I agree. My wife and I made a choice years ago that I would work and she would take care of our kids. This was OUR CHOICE. It worked. We didn't have a glamorous life. We struggled often. But we made it. Both of my kids are now in college. So....is that a win?...I think so. Do I have a bundle in the bank?...lol...not even close!

I think our kids came out better because their care giver was someone that actually gave a #...not an institutional worker that saw one kid just like the next....a burden to tend to for a shift.

I dislike this whole conversation because a part of me feels it is a distraction.....a distraction from what matters....freedom and independence.....to do what we as individuals need to do to survive and succeed....and it is different for each and everyone of us.

I hate crap like this. We are discussing a couple of poor comments like it matters and what matters is why the cronies keep on winning and the Gov just keeps on getting bigger....I am sorry folks but I think a ton of people out there just don't have a f'ing clue.

A distraction? Funny you should mention that.

The personal attack on Ann Romney was intended to distract attention away from

Obamas 2 Achilles heels.

1) High Price of Gas

2) High Unemployment Rate

Luckily, it has turned into a way for Romney to sell $6 bumper stickers.

LINK

So not only are they cutting women's reproductive rights, they are now also against equal pay. I'm sure that'll bring them a lot of women votes in the coming election

Hi, people who don't want to listen won't listen. All of the Republican candidates are in favour of removing the right of women to choose on what is one of the most important issues. Instead, to avoid talking about that they focus on an unelected persons comments which they have now apologised for. Sad really because this will probably be a key area of the election when it so shouldn't be.

Why did Hilary Rosen start a War on Moms?

Even Gov. Sarah Palin says Hilary Rosen has awoken mothers all across America!

This is a disaster for David Axelrod.

His GOP War on Women is just another phony war.
--------
David Axelrod has zero credibility.

there is no credibility in politics, regardless if you are talking left or right, their is only lies and twisted truths.....

but, I know for a fact, that many of the conservatives on this board have a tendency to treat those stay at home moms like lazy bums, and it seems to me, that this lady was just speaking with the same spirit as those conservatives!!!

some how, we moms are supposed to stay home with the kiddies, have the funds to feed and support them, save up a million or so so we don't have to rely on social security, make error proof plans, and all the while on top of all that, we should be there to coddle our men folk and do everything they tell us to!!!

if ann romney was just your average poor women, with ms and fighting breast cancer, you would be treating her like crap and trying to take away the programs that kept her alive, complaining how she was too lazy to work, too dumb to plan, and too stupid to take care of herself....

is it too much to ask for a little consistancy here?? from both sides!!!
god, it was perfectly okay to blow the budget to hades and back when bush was in office with unfunded wars and great tax breaks for the rich....
and it was bush that initiated the bank bailouts....
so, why was it so wrong for obama to send it a little further back carrying out the plans of those bailouts that was put into effect under bush and trying to stabilize an economy that THERE IS NO FIXING TO!!

LIES AND TWISTED TRUTHS WILL SOLVE NOTHING!!!

until this country is ready to accept the truth and lay aside the blame game and lies, well, have a nice ride down the steep hill people!!

Stop...right there....all your talk has now lost all credibility. The POTUS has no influence on gas prices....just go back 4 years and ask d-bag O'reilly. It is market based...we ...who have a real education know this....apparently...some don't.

The pres has no influence on this...stop the lies here and now. IF...he did (here comes the conservative lies)...well then he is tampering with market elements and is a socialists....you morons think you can have it both ways...some of us are educated beyond the stupidity of the pundits.

Unemployment? He tried to fix our bridges and roads and the morons wouldn't let him do that either.

Just stfu...

you just lost all credibility....you have no idea what you speak of besides what faux news tells you...you know absolutely nothing about reality.

Glad you think you know something...because this...and those that bark the same spew...reveal your ignorance of the world with every breath....how f'ing maddening....

I'm done...I swore I would never argue with an idiot....and I won't....thanks for coming forward and showing the true colors before we continued.

AND I AM NOT EVEN A DEMOCRAT YOU FAIL!!! I am Libertarian....but I AM for the truth....your lies need to be slammed down at every turn.

There never was a war on moms. It has nothing to do with moms. It has nothing to do with MS or breast cancer. It has to do with WOMEN. It has to do with women and their economic issues. It has to do with Ann Romney not having any economic issues, i.e., she has never had to worry about economic issues. Therefore she has no personal experience with the worries of economic issues. Therefore she is not the best person to listen to about women and economic issues.

This was Hillary Rosen's point. Get it??

ALL your posts in this thread were dead on.

Sadly so, sadly so. And to think it wasn't always this way.

Another thing, in my family are two women who, like Mrs. Romney, chose to stay home with their children. One woman is in the 1% family, admittedly says that she has no worries about medical bills, paying for private college, retirement future, and spending thousands for dog surgery. The other woman's husband also works but earns so little, that they qualify for free public pre-school, free K-12 education, free govt lunch programs, and free govt health care for the kids. Here's the kicker, the 1% quit voting GOP 20 years ago because she didn't like their policies and attitudes about women back then. The low income woman votes GOP like her husband, supporting their less govt, less taxes platform, all the while not earning enough to pay taxes, and taking advantage of every big govt program they can.

And with even more fairness in mind, let's take a look at Ann Romney.

Read this real close Ms. Rosen !!! You vermin scumbag, and then tell us some more about family values.

Ann was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 1998 and has credited a mixture of mainstream and alternative treatments with giving her a lifestyle mostly without limitations. In one of those activities, equestrianism, she has consequently received recognition in dressage as an adult amateur at the national level and competing professionally in Grand Prix as well. In 2008, she was also diagnosed with ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS), a non-invasive type of breast cancer. She underwent a lumpectomy in December of the same year and has since been cancer-free.

She and husband Mitt have five children, born between 1970 and 1981.
Ann Romney

Anything else, Ms Rosen ?? You dirtball.

ETA: Hilary Rosen is Garbage ... pure vermin.

Absolutely Perfect for the Obama den of iniquity

Mr. and Mrs. Romney have no idea what the average person in the USA goes through in their life. Mr. Romney was born into a wealthy elite family, and my guess is, he has never wondered where his next meal was coming from. As far as her equestrian accomplishments, I applaud her, but her task was made much easier by the purchase of 6 figure fully trained horses, that I am sure came with paid trainers. If you told me she took a 1000 dollar horse and won 15000 with it, I would be much more impressed. Rosen made a really poorly worded comment to describe how out of touch with reality the Romney's are, and the right is having a hay day with it. Romney is a horse's behind, and he proves it every time he opens his mouth. I sorely wish the Repubs would have brought their A game to the arena, but this cycle has only been the scrubs.

TYT does a pretty good job at summing up this entire joke of a controversy:

The last question she asks is crucial:"Does Romney have a strong record in helping women, stay at home moms or working women?"

The answer is "NO!"...especially given all the anti-women's rights legislation the GOP wants to push through. So what does the GOP do? They go on the offensive and simply deflect criticism by blaming the Democrats for something they are VERY actively doing themselves. It's really comical

Sadly the Obama administration is weak and once again shied away from a confrontation when they would have had the upper hand

Obama's like a poker player who plays someone headsup, and then then look at his dealt AA...just before folding because after all, he could lose if he played his aces

The first thing people should think about when they hear "Mrs Romney" is "FIVE NANNIES...FIVE".

I'm a dude who had to take care of babies once in a while (not my own), and it went ok'ish. I'm not great at handling them...but give me 5 (!!!) nannies and you have the right to kick me in the balls every time I say "damn this taking care of kids thing is hard...I totally get what other moms go through". 5 of them for crying out loud. One prepares food, one takes care of diapers, one cleans the rooms, one drives them around and helps with homework...and the last one has to serve me whiskey cokes and give me foot rubs while I watch football

Her kids are grown and have kids, so she was not battling these diseases while raising them. It would be nice if every stay at home mom had a husband making 21 million a year. I think it is safe to say, and most logical people would agree that Mrs. Romney does not represent the average American woman, stay at home mom or not.

This is such a load of extreme crapola. I'm not Democrat but the Republicans are so panicked about how badly they fair with women they are grasping at straws.

This lady that made the comments is just a "democratic strategist" and doesn't even work with the POTUS re-election campaign. She had an opinion. Have you always had opinions that everyone in the world agrees with? I'm going to guess....erm....NO.

Personally, I think it was a stupid thing to say but guess what? This is the USA and she is entitled to say whatever she wants. Does she represent all democrats because she is a democrat? That is a retarded thing to say and believe. Does she represent all women because she is a woman? Absolutely not...

The repubs know without the women vote...they lose and their draconian policies removing a woman's rights to choose and get medical treatment is what got them in this boat. They are desperate and will say any stupid thing in the world to try to dodge the storm of bullets they are under.

I personally hope for a really solid third party candidate. The "two party system" is a joke...they are two wings of the same bird of prey and they have both failed the American people.

but that being said...people need to stop acting like horse's @sses. One person, speaking without the consensus of a group....DOES NOT represent that group. That is like saying all men age 30 to 50 are alcoholics because one man steps up and admits to it. It's stupid.
edit on 4/13/2012 by Damrod because: (no reason given)

I would love to see a third party ticket that was viable, being a left leaning independent, I would even welcome a ticket of Colin Powell and Condaleeza Rice, the repubs have not brought their A team to this game.

I predict there will be no more attacks on Ann Romney.

Obama has declared her - off limits -.
--------
I guess it's back to the Buffet Tax which solves nothing.

No more attacks are necessary, it has that snowball affect, the exact same thing they did to Palin and her family
Plant the seed of hate.

Here is the problem the right has, no one is hating on Mrs. Romney, we on the left believe she is, in no way, representative of most American women. I am sure she is a nice lady, but her wealth does not allow her to represent the norm. That being said, their are lots of reasons to hate on Palin, she is an idiot.

Wrong again. The president is solely responsible for the high price of gas. Nancy Pelosi

taught me that during the entire Bush 8 year term in office. Listen for yourself.

PS. I already sent Nancy Pelosi a thank you note.

This Hilary Rosen Gaffe has legs and it is not going away.

Hilary Rosen is not some rogue democrat. Look at her resume at Wikipedia.

She has connections to the SKDKnickerbocker PR firm.

LoL! You got me on that one! *Shake fist at sky* "Damn you youtube!"

Not that it's correct though. She, just like the repubes are doing now...was playing politics....which is why I say both parties suck.

Now, as a weathered and veteran capitalist, you must certainly understand the principles of "supply and demand"....correct? Sounds simple. However, in the case of commodities, people get to gamble on future values of those commodities and whether or not their will be a sudden rush on demand in said future. This allows them to inflate the price based on these speculations and then...the country willing to bite the bullet and pay that price...get's that oil. (This is how fortunes have been made on essentially pennies in the heating oil market).

It's a freaking shell game and needs to somehow be contolled. Normally, I am not for the government telling anyone what they can charge for a product...but seeing how oil is basically a new modern "necessity of life" right up there with running water and electricity, it needs to be reeled in and regulated somehow (I am not that smart and don't know how to do that. - But it needs to be done.

People say "Oh well Europe pays twice what we do"....that's because they tax the P!ss out of it to pay for things. You think our gas taxes are high?...Oh man...just do some homework on European and Great Britain gasoline taxes.

This!!!

People should look at Sweden's tax system. I bet most conservatives would get an insta-heart-attack. In reality, Sweden has one of the highest standards of living in the world and better education than the US...but according to the current GOP candidates Sweden is clearly a communist country

I love to say this to people that don't understand. We have what is called "the Nordic example".

Sweden, Finland, Norway and Denmark. They are ....by far....the most successful Socialist movements in the world.

They have low crime. Everyone has a home. Everyone eats. And guess what?....They have the largest population of millionaires and Billionaires (per capita) on the planet....is that whack or what? This idea that we must adhere to this system "or else" is a blatant lie and a total fleecing of the masses....this is done so the mega Corporations....like GE can continue to screw the public for a profit.

Some folks will open their eyes and "get it" and some folks will refuse to do so....some folks will intentionally clamp the blinders on and willingly refuse to see it.

There can be a middle ground that allows the real go-getters an opportunity to be extremely wealthy...and still have a system in place to tend to those in need. It's not a theory folks....it has been proven possible...and actually...easily do-able....but the MSM and the money whores...are not going to allow that to be shown....they want you to think that someone must suffer for prosperity to come....

What a grand F'ing illusion that has been created, propagated.....and embraced....

sad stuff
