Women's rights have always been under assault (in the middle east).

Not totally to blame, but they're certainly a contributing factor in many cases. You may be ignorant to current legislation in multiple states, pushed by "christian conservatives," that would further restrict women's rights, but I'm sure it's all irrelevant as long as it doesn't involve you.

That's coming from USA government sponsored propaganda, not christians. (WOW)

No, that's information I've found doing educated research. Some of us use the internet for stuff other than trolling forums and downloading porn.

Who cares? Why would anyone in the right mind want to get married in the first place?

I'm glad that nobody will have to deal with marrying you in real life. Some of us value loving and committed relationships. If you don't, that's fine too.

*******
Now what EXACTLY was the point of your post?

The reason people react so adversely to Christianity is because they don't like being lied to.

I'm pretty sure I'm the inspiration for this thread. If y'all don't believe me, check out the last three or four threads I've posted. OP's been haranguing me on every one of them, without proving anything except the Bible knew its geography.

Get over yourselves. Blind faith does not equal wisdom...it equals walking straight into a fire and convincing yourself you're not burning until you're a pile of ash.

Have fun with that.

I also notice that the term " government shill" is thrown around this site to describe people with an agenda to muddy the waters of an open discussion on a variety of topics. I have to ask myself if the term can be adapted to "religious shill"? The reason I ask myself this question is because I see a ton of threads discussing religion that aren't really discussions but blanket statements opposed to those that don't "believe". Most of the the time the same names appear to be the culprits behind these threads. I ask the members of ATS to check profiles and post history to determine for themselves who these "religious shills" are. The most obvious clue is when one only posts or starts threads related to religion, especially when their post counts are in the 600+ or say 4,000 + range.....just some food for thought ATS.

I have faith that the Christians who frequent this forum have the wits to see through the lies and deception of all the new age garbage and atheistic nonsense...

Here's your Mirror.

Signed: Atheist

I have faith in gravity. And guess where I learned about that?

In my science book. Which was not written by your god.

See, I will state that I believe in a god. But in the immortal words of a down-to-earth man about to face a storm of aliens in a Stephen King movie:

"I believe in God too. I just don't believe He's the bloodthirsty ***hole you make Him out to be."

Justifying discrimination because others do it is NOT a valid defense.

I wasn't justifying anything, only pointing out your hypocrisy for putting it all on the shoulders of Christians. Heck even atheist countries don't allow gay marriage. Your point was moot, that was the issue.

I didn't put it all on christians, but certainly a fair amount of the blame lies there. Mine was simply a reply on how to stop the hate. Leading by example can be a powerful persuader.

Next time clarify that then. And we not just love the sinner, but we love truth and Christ. Yes, He forgave sins, but He told them to "go and sin no more." If you hate what we say, you don't hate the messenger, you hate the Message-Giver.

We follow Christ. Even if the world hates us for it, it hated Him first and the student is never above the Master.

You have just succumbed to the world my friend,

So have I and everyone else,

Jesus still lives in you and you in Him, and I'm sure you'll come back to Him eventually,

Once convicted, it's hard to permanently turn back,

I'll be praying for you to go back to Dad

(Theres a reason you haven't paid the sin debt yet)

How are you not in a psycho ward yet?

I'm being serious here. Last time I heard anything remotely like this line, it was from a woman who was forcibly committed to a mental institution.

That's generally what they do.

I am not in a psyche ward because I am perfectly sane.

I have an IQ of 135 which was tested for in the United States Air Force,

and I served as a Terminal Radar Approach Controller in the United States Air Force, operating in one of the busiest training bases in the US Military.

Feeble attempts to disregard the truth as lies will not persuade me.

By the grace of God.

Let's pray for her, she's not here to defend herself anyways.

Much better than what they used to do before the First Amendment, small victories, small victories.

I agree. Now do a Greek study on that English word "great". And consider if when Jesus said there was "none greater" than John if He was implying all other people born were not humans.

Take your time, Greek is really tricky.

I'm going to put this right here...why? Because I have experienced it, and I have not a single doubt in my mind that others have experienced it too...whether they watched it happen, or heard about it, or been in that place themselves.

Those who convert to christianity at an age where they could think for themselves...they were offered no proof but an old book. But they chose to believe anyway. Why? Because the sheer WILLINGNESS to believe brought such good joy from within them, that it was better to lie for hope than to be honest for hell.

Hell? What hell? Oh, right...earth. That hell. Okay, continuing.

Lying for hope. That's what I did. I was baptized, yes I was. It was darn cold too. And I couldn't stop laughing...because I though maybe, for the first time in my life, I had found a place where I belonged. And yet there were so many issues I could not reconcile. I had been taught science, certainly, and I don't think one set of laws can be used to produce a reality with the complete opposite set of laws.

I had a Christian friend say to me, "You're bisexual. That's wrong. You must curb your lust...you must learn."

Learn what, exactly? That even though we are taught unconditional love, our sexual love, that which is the most sacred of all forms, must be conditional? Excuse me? Haha...right.

And then I ask, "Well, what about everything that's going on here? All the bad stuff, earthquakes and everything?"

"Oh, well, the Lord has his ways. He's teaching us something."

Wonderful answer. You dodged the bush and everything. Applause for mastering the art of unproductive responses.

Also, i heard on a radio show that someone had the absolute iron testicles to say, "Oh, the trouble they're having in Saudi Arabia...maybe it's a sign they should convert to Christianity?" I almost broke my radio right then and there.

Excuse me? EXCUSE ME?! This religion teaches love, tolerance, and compassion, and yet tries to cover up evry bad thing that happens while justifying their own lies about the history of the world. Furthermore, they believe a thousand-year-dead man will be the salvation of their world...LITERALLY. Why not just give up on it and teach about peace and love for the SAKE of peace and love?

There are so many things wrong with this, it's not funny. My mom was told she was going to hell because she is gay. That's Christianity, right? Okay, just making sure.

Yeah, you can take your "stop hating on us" and drive to the south pole with it. Shack with it for a while. Get a good look at it. And realize the exact degree of your hypocrisy. Maybe you might make a little sense once you've grown some hair on your spiritual chest.

Until then, you're wet behind the ears. Grow up. You don't know everything...you're only human, with a massive potential for believing in fairytales that keep the nightmares away...the nightmares that are the reality of this world. Delusion for the sake of sanity. Because you are weak, and withdrawing out of sheer terror and repulsion. I wish I could do that... Stop acting all-knowing, and all-loving, because you're not, and pretending you are only makes yourself look foolish and drags everyone else behind.

Namaste.

My question, then, becomes who decided that your right to voice your opinion supersedes our right to not have to listen to it? again, and again, and again... It gets old and drives people away.

If someone doesn't want to hear your message, continuing to preach your gospel ceases to be an issue of speech, and begins to be an issue of harassment.

I support your right to voice your opinion, I just wish christians had the common courtesy of allowing me to be free of having to listen to it.

What ignorance.

No proof but a rusty old book?

Do you think I'm stupid?

Did you not see what I said, about what career I was in, in the military?

Do you think that I do not know objectivity, skepticism, and researching without bias?

Don't you think I and many other believers have much more to go on but our crusty old book?
A little thing called personal experience?

Good God Almighty starchild,

you ARE deluded!

Selah!

There's a reason you go in the military. You can't afford to go anywhere else, you have no TALENT anywhere else, or you're a psychopath who wants to get paid to do what you love most.

Yeah, the military. Try harder to impress us.

By the way, the military is largely an organization for destruction. Doesn't that contradict the "love thy neighbor as yourself" doctrine?

Oh, and this personal experience...yeah, I have this friend. He's schizophrenic, you know? He can talk to a penguin whenever he wants. True story. He doesn't work at a zoo, but penguins love him. Right there by him all the time. He's in Michigan right now, and he can walk into the middle of the street and pet a penguin. Thing is...the penguin isn't there.

But it's real enough to him.

*BOOM* dead in the water, son.

50 cents for a new game. Care for another spin?
