SKOPJE, Macedonia -- Thousands of Orthodox Christian worshippers from across Macedonia are lining up to visit a church where a cleric says frescoes of saints have begun to appear brighter in color without any obvious explanation.

Father Zoran of Saint Dimitrija church in Skopje, the capital, said Monday that the murals, long obscured by the residue of candle smoke, began to appear clearer over the weekend, with red and gold colors becoming more noticeable.

That has prompted worshippers to flock to the church ahead of Orthodox Easter next Sunday.

About two-thirds of Macedonia's 2.1 million people have been baptized Orthodox Christian.

I tend to think that this is only a trick of the light, but I haven't seen this phenomenon with my own eyes, so....

Nobody here from Macedonia that could either confirm or invalidate it?

Question:

Do they have a janitor come in during the weekend?

Is it the same janitor as before?

Could the janitor finally have decided to clean that wall?

But no....let's automatically jump to miracle.

I find it interesting that people believe the Bible when it says to not worship images or idols, yet when Jesus' face turns up on a tortilla chip a majority of them come rushing to worship said object.

Wouldn't one think that maybe the Devil is trying to fool you into worshiping images and idols?

Just a thought for the believers out there.

I would hazard a guess that the light is reflecting off the metals used in Medieval paints that were used to paint halo's . Some halo's were painted with gold leaf . The gold can fade over time , but will still leave a metalic surface .

Cheers

Well not me. I once saw the face of Jesus on a piece of toast.
I said a quick prayer, and then ate the face off him.
(Local worshippers did find out a little later, and kept wanting to know
when i was next due a bowel movement).

Well, this is not idol worship.

Only an innocent endeavor to get people to church throughout Pascha.
