"Male" and "female" are sex categories, while "masculine" and "feminine" are gender categories.

I don't confuse the issue to make it a problem. I'm not androgynous.

Thanks alot for your suggestion. I just finished upgrading my avatar so people stop taking me for a woman. The avatar now specify that I'm not a girl and even specify my age.

*checks*

Definitely male I can't prove it however or I'd violate a few rules.


ETA and if one doesn't want their sex to be mistaken then they shouldn't have an ambiguous avatar and/or name.

I think you are not the only one who has been gender mistaken , and I understand why you started the thread.

It may not be a big deal to some, yet I have seen a few corrections on assumptions of gender , where the member who has been assumed a different gender gets rather upset, so I think its a valid topic.

Hi swan, and i too assumed you were female, thank you for clearing it up.
