I suppose I am more interested in why the information you are searching for is important to you. If you are trying to make it known that you are in fact a male I would suggest taking the earlier suggestion of putting something in your signature. But to get defensive when people remind you that gender here isn't important is rude if you ask me.

Its not a point of being shy though. I think its a matter of necessity. ATS didn't think it was necessary when they developed the site so it is something we don't have to fill out. Along with our real names, ages, and sexual preferences etc.

But recently I discovered a big flaw: There is no way to know if you are talking to a woman or a guy.

Even if they tell you, they could be fibbing.... Personally, I'm all dude.

You'd likely be surprised though, how many members are actually female. Quite a bit more than you think, most likely...and this includes staff.

A lot of members simply don't want anyone to know, to avoid it coloring their opinion, or worse, becoming the target of unwanted advances and U2U nonsense. Just an FYI, the terms and conditions apply to U2Us and chat also folks....
