Ufo sighting 25/03/2012 [iridium flare]

I was looking outside the window to the sky for about 20 minutes.
And suddenly I saw this small ball of light flying really fast.
First I thought it was just a falling star, but after a few seconds there was a huge flash.
I couldn't believe me eyes, so I went downstairs and told my mom and brother about it.
They didn't believe me at first, but they came upstairs with me and we investigated the sky for a bit
and then we saw this flying orbs, we couldn't believe our eyes. I was so excited and scared at the same time.
I tried recording it with my phone, but I couldn't film anything, the only thing you saw was a small dot wich was the moon. I kept following one orb (or whatever it was) for a few minutes and suddenly it just dissapeared..
There weren't any clouds in the sky, so that's not the reason why it dissapeared.
The next day I was looking to some videos about ufo sightings from 25 march and I saw a video about a ufo sighting in paris, those orbs looked the same as what I saw

and this was actually my first ufo sighting

Lanters.....or balloons reflecting light from below.

They flow in the wind......they are not being controlled by aliens

Get 3 balloons, release them, see what happens They all end up looking like a triangle.

Edit: and the geometric pattern is just coincidental (triangle in the sample below)

Ufos? haha, I don't know.. could be chinese lanterns.
So someone released them in paris or belgium and they were all visible in french and belgium?

Hmmm shame whoever took the video couldn't zoom in. Whatever it is seems to be fast, but couldn't they just be planes? It's hard to tell when they are that small or so far away.

If they zoomed in....it would have shown the flicker of the lanterns better. That part was probably edited out. Zoomed in...ooops too blatant....zoom out...happy days

Planes have strobes, lanterns just flicker.

yeah it's a shame the recorder didn't zoom in, but Im sure they aren't planes

Yeah everytime I rewatch the video it seems more likely to be lanterns xD

When you saw the flash, do you think that could have been one of the lanterns catching on fire? They are typically made from light material which I imagine would go up quick.

But these lanterns still don't explain the huge flash I saw?

Could be but the flash was more white - yellow, wouldn't the flash be a red-orange colour if it caught fire? :p

Well not necessarily and it would be over real quick. Plus the distance would surely play into it too. Oh and different materials burn different colors, so...
