needless to say, frackin' is usually a 2-step process

so u get mite a mix of little tremors from da frackin'

but bigger ones usually from da hi presha injectin' part

Fracking may be to blame for Oklahoma earthquakes

That process can cause very small earthquakes, but the fracking process doesn’t really, we think, induce large earthquakes,” USGS scientist Mike Blanpied said. “The thing that can induce larger earthquakes is the high-pressure waste fluid injection that’s done in some places.”

USGS scientist: ‘We’re only starting to learn about fracking, fluid injection, earthquakes"

Questions have been raised about the possible connection between earthquake swarms and fracking – a process in which water, sand and often undisclosed chemicals are injected under high pressure deep into natural gas wells to fracture tight geological formations and free up more gas. Fracking occurs in about 90 percent of all natural gas wells in the United States. The fluids are often brought back up and stored on the surface for re-use and later disposed of in separate deep-injection wells. And it’s those disposal wells that in the past have prompted investigations by the USGS after rare earthquake swarms in southern Colorado, where in 2001 officials said they could “not rule out the possibility” the wells caused the quakes.

“Just to be clear, the connection between fracking and fluid injection and earthquakes is an area of active research and really we’re only starting to learn about how those things are connected.”

Last month, the Arkansas Oil and Gas Commission identified four disposal wells it says need to be shut down in the wake of earthquake swarms in that state last spring. The state also ordered a moratorium on new disposal wells in the area. The USGS cites a Colorado case in the 1960s as the most famous example of deep-injection wells causing an earthquake. “The largest and most widely known resulted from fluid injection at the Rocky Mountain Arsenal near Denver, Colo.,” the USGS states. “In 1967, an earthquake of magnitude 5.5 followed a series of smaller earthquakes. Injection had been discontinued at the site in the previous year once the link between the fluid injection and the earlier series of earthquakes was established.” The U.S. Army had been disposing of toxic fluids at depths of nearly 12,000 feet but had to discontinue the process after the quakes.

I think you've come up with some good data here, but from your comments I can't tell if you know the english language. English is a form of speaking or writing which communicates information through symbols. It's as if fracking and injecting were spelling and syntax. When you are fracking it seems the minor quakes in the language output disrupt the local ground structure and cause people discomfort but not overt fear. Yet when you try to put words together in syntax, thus injecting the entire area with disruption of the local fauna, animals run to open ground only to find it already being subdivided for construction.

there was an interesting program on C-SPAN about fracking by the USGS from 4/4/2012.
The video is here www.c-spanvideo.org...

I guess there were a few interesting questions I was left with...

1) the statement was made that there is no law in place to hold fracking companies responsible for damage from quakes caused by their actions and

2) if they have known since the military did injection wells that produced an earthquake, why did the feds allow injection wells to be placed in seismically active areas? They can`t claim the old "we didn`t have any data on that possibility".

well POTUS's recent speech defends fracking for domestic fuels, in the name of self-sufficiency. so we know whose side legislation/gov are on.

meanwhile gas, oil, & gasoline prices continue to skyrocket, and our growing imperial military ops needs more and more feul to burn.

recent bp and total are recent examples of what happenen when you rig or pump the earth's crust- it blows and ish happens, eventually gets out of control.

so the gas/oil companies are in a scramble to frack around as much as they can and get as much gas/oil out - while they still can.

for all we know, TPB experimenting, seeding something in the crux of the heartland.. perhaps to divide america 'down the middle' for a NWO.

U.S. Government making plans? If it happens it will mean God will divide the U.S. down the middle. This is a WARNING! There are 15 nuclear power plants in the New Madrid fault zone that are of the same or similar design
