Tried a couple searches for this case but I couldn't find anything, so here goes
This is little-known case, and not really that complex, but it was witnessed by a good number of people, credible witnesses it would seem. With those
factors considered, I thought it deserved a mention here at ATS.
The sighting took place on October 17, 1976 at Akita Airport in Japan. Starting at 10:40 in the morning, a metallic golden disk was observed by air
traffic controllers, pilots, and passengers in the area. Kenichi Waga, telecommunications officer in the control tower described the object this way:
"It was disc-shaped, larger than a car, but smaller than an airplane."
Tazawa Takumi, an air traffic controller on duty said the UFO looked like "two plates placed together, the top one inverted." Takumi looked through
binoculars and described this object:
These reports were substantiated by several others, including the account of Captain Masara Saito, a Toa Airlines Pilot. While preparing to take off,
Saito saw a "strange looking disc-shaped object 5000 feet above the ground."
Eventually the disc flew away towards the sea.
Personally I believe this to be a legit encounter with an unknown craft. What do you guys think?
