I've just had a shave after a few months of going the bushman* look and stopped at the moustache and thought hmmm should I or shouldn't I?

I've decided to give it a day to see how I feel about it, it makes me look 10 years older which sucks coz I already look 5-10 years older than I am, so it's not looking good. On the pro side though, it adds a touch of distinction...

So, what makes a person choose to go the stach?

Probably the masculine look, or maybe just because they look awesome on some people.
Or maybe just to change things up, might get boring looking at the same face in the mirror.

True, some do look awesome.

I'm indifferent at the moment but I need to get used to it before judging it...

I sometimes grow a stache usually in the winter, we have a thing called Movember in the UK where your grow a stache in November for charity so I sometimes do that.

It takes some getting used to, also you have to decide what style your going for, theres lots of ways you can trim it.

The two main bonuses though are, you automatically get a 100% higher chance of becoming a political dictator and you get to wear that awesome moustache rides t-shirt

i think its shear laziness on my part!

if i could grow a full beard i would, but i can grow a he77 of a stash! i just reall hate shaving and i leave it to the last min. when i look like i'm homeless! then i brak down and mow it all off!

as for why guys grow them im sure there are hundreds of reasons, but i think its mainly because they can!

It's simple, mustaches are awesome.

I have had a mustache pretty much my entire life.

I had to shave it off for three months in bootcamp, but I grew it right back afterwards. It's funny, I have never kept it within grooming standards. Twelve years now and no one has ever said anything about it.

There may even be a tax break coming for people with mustaches. Stache Act (Ridiculous I know)

Yeah, laziness is why I had the bushman look...

Problem is I'm getting damn gray in my beard now!

I am not qiet sure, if I am too lazy or if I like to look different evry few weeks. I guess, it's a bit of both.
So I shave it for some time and then I let it grow, until I want to see my face under it again.

Not a fan of the stash! I guess they're ok if you like a flavour saver above your top lip... and being hit on by 60 year old women!

LMAO

Ooh harsh...

I was going to retort that Tom Selleck doesn't get hit on by 60 year old women.

But then I realise that nowadays....he probably does....

Him indoors grows his (and I am in awe at just how fast he can grow and train a good tache) whenever we have something coming up. Currently, due to the Titanic anniversary he's grown an awesome handlebar purely to go with his Edwardian bathing and Titanic lifeboat ring cossie.

The only problem is leaning down to kiss him, it gets right up your nose. Sometime feels like Cthulhu's trying to probe your brains via your nostrils.

I grew a full beard
for what turned out
to be a mild winter.

i slowly shaved it off
as it warmed up into spring.

I've since trimmed it
into a stache that I can twist into points
@ the corner of my mouth (petite handle bar)

now to answer you question...

the simplest answer would be... I do it because I can

I've been blessed with good strong even facial hair.
so I take advantage of it.

The wife can't stand the beard.
the stache allows her to see my cheeks & chin
so she's a little better with that.

the best is doing styles from the past.
its 1 thing to see it in a painting or an old pic.
I like giving people the option to see what it looks like on a man.

I'm constantly changing the style of my facial hair. I just get bored. Plus it's really fun when it takes people you know a minute to figure out if it's you or not in a bar.
