BREAKING: 150 Pakistan Soldiers feared dead - buried under avalanche

www.bbc.co.uk...
At least 100 Pakistani troops have been buried by an avalanche in the disputed Kashmir region, officials say.

Local TV stations say that the incident happened near the Siachen glacier in the eastern Karakoram mountain range.

The AP news agency, quoting a security official, says 130 soldiers were buried when a battalion headquarters in the Gayari district was engulfed.

The area is in the northern tip of the divided Kashmir region which is claimed by both India and Pakistan.

Pakistan army spokesman Major General Athar Abbas told the AFP news agency that at least 100 soldiers were missing, and that a rescue operation had begun.

Rest In Peace. Hope they can be saved under the piles of snow. A massive tragedy.

It happened in the Siachen area close to Pakistan/India border.

presstv link does not mention troops. only soldiers.

bbc says 100 troops. if its 100 troops and 150 soldiers that makes each troop 1.5 soldiers, no?

where i live a troop is many soldiers. like 10 or more.

I think it is just a language issue. It sounds like what you refer to as a troop, is what other countries call units or platoons etc. Could be wrong though, language is all messed up these days
