And after all, isn't it a basic understanding that paying taxes is a responsibilty of each citizen? And if you have a judgement against you by the IRS, shouldn't you be working to get that settled one way or the other rather than planning a trip to some foreign country?

The part that gets me though is that the IRS doesn't even have to charge you for Tax Evasion for them to get your passport. It can simply say you owe this much and that is that. What kind of accountability is that?
