Is there anything remarkable about it?

As far as I know magnitude 4 earthquakes are constantly happening all over the world

That might shake a few wind chimes

yeah the American commonality is to bother with 4+ within USA or 5+ elsewhere

Although only 4.4 magnitude it is fairly shallow at 4.9 KM or 3 miles deep. Would have given a good shake to those around it! Are earthquakes usual to this part of the world?

Yes, on the emsc site, the search for the EQ with mag>5 gives no results.

Another search with mag>4.5 gives only 15 results in 8 years, with a max 4.9eq in February 2010:
