It is not election time yet. I am not so sure this is a case of big money running from Obama as much as it might be big money propping up the Candidate who will run against him.

I think we need to remember that Obama is not really even campaigning yet. Romney however is campaigning, and still has yet to secure the Nomination.

Romney has a surprise coming i think hes going to take Paul Ryan as his vp. And this guy is a tiger he will steal the alot of the Hispanic vote.women like him as well and on top of it he would destroy Biden in debates. Then they would make the campaign about the future of America. If he picks Ryan they will make it about making are kids and grand kids paying for our mistakes. you will here how he spent 5 trillion in 4 years. How his new budget was going to create another 4 trillion. How the cost of Obama care keeps going up and up. They will bring up 500 million he lost with solyndra. Then theyll explain the debt now means each American owes 44,000 towards national debt. Ill even predict there campaign theme CAN WE AFFORD 4 MORE YEARS? If this happens Obama is done because Ryan is one of the few people that actually went through the federal budget.

With Ryan, American Seniors and students will pay for the banks mistakes.

Isn't it neato how the banks can destroy the economy and then use it as an excuse to
get better tax rates at the expense of Seniors and Students?

I love that, but when it takes along time to do, it must not be real...

I guess you better hope he picks someone else and im wrong.Because the whole scarring seniors thing wont work Ryan is very smart and his plan doesnt hurt seniors in the least. Didnt you see that commercial about throwing grandma off the cliff. It was trashed for being wrong he doesnt cut spending he froze it but only in the government if you dont increase spending is that a cut. I dont like Romney but mark my words if he chooses Ryan as VP Obama has lost. Obamas only shot would be to dump Biden and take Hillary if he did that might get me to vote for him again. But as it is now no way hes screwed up international relations he screwed up the economy and continually blames everyone. heres what i mean can you think of any speech he made where he didnt blame someone or reprimand someone. Even his last one he gave a speech telling the supreme court what not to do.Second fight hes started with them. What kinda idiot picks a fight with the people that have the fate of your signature bill in there hands that makes him stupid.

Since votes are based on number of people voting not how much money is thrown at a candidate, it looks like Obama has a better chance of winning... unless all that bank money is going to be used to help "tip the scales" if you know what I mean.

I don't like either of em personally. It's like a choice between the gas chamber or electric chair. Such has been case in US presidential elections for a long time, sadly.

Ryan wants to turn Medicare into a voucher program, this would be a much more expensive
system for seniors because private companies will charge a premium for the risk of insuring
a person who is closer to their life expectancy. That is a fact, a mathematical fact and a
fact of insurance actuaries. Ryan's plan also takes extensively from student support and
programs, exactly at a time when America should be doubling down on education, not
recoiling so Billionaires can invest more money into the southeast Asian economy with
their tax breaks.

Yep.. I had the displeasure tonight to argue with a HARDCORE Obama supporter. It blew my mind.
His tactic was to make hyperbole out of everything I said. I said that Obama's words about the supreme court made him sound authoritarian, he tried to dismiss me as an Obama = Hitler extreme right winger.

I said I supported Ron Paul he for some reason called me a teabagger and tried to align me with Palin (who I despise). It was madness.

How is it so hard for some people to see that Romney and Obama are one in the same?

I hear ya Vic.

Star for Ya.

People are looking at it with "the greater of two evils" angle. Why they cant see that hasn't worked, for 20+ years, gets me. Why continue that song and dance? I would rather vote for ANYONE else, then the standard two Party Puppets, and sleep good knowing,My vote, didn't help destroy our Country. I wonder if those who are going to vote for Romney or Obama can say that? Or do they keep patting each other on the backs, saying evil is good, even if its in small amounts........

" It will be incredibly difficult for Romney to overcome that, no matter how much money is spent. Romney has 2 groups that he will win the majority on.

White males and the wealthy. The GOP has alienated everyone else and i can't see them winning the majority of any other block of voters.

I don't think he'll even win the elderly vote...not with what he's stated about SS and Medicare lately....even evangelicals are going to have a hard time voting for him." edit on 5-4-2012 by David9176 because: (no reason given.

You left out the Mormons..... he'll have every one of their votes. I wonder how much the church will be donating... I used to live in Zion- I mean Utah.

Love how people still pretend this is even a contest

Romney (or any of the other GOP candidates) can't get the latino votes, and in Newt's case the women votes. So if you do the math, none of them stand the slightest chance.

But the main reason the GOP can't win is because they ran their entire primaries campaign by appealing to a small extreme/fundamentalist minority. It's going to be VERY hard to justify what they ran on then once they have to defend it against Obama and the majority in the country.

That all sounds a bit general.

Can you show us the actual language in the Ryan proposals ?

They may actually have the facts and figures too !

No quotes = No true ?

People who are against the Ryan plans need to contact their Senators to change the legislation.

If the taxpayers gave Trillions to the banks in bailouts...and the banks are overwhelmingly funding Romney.

Does that mean that the 99% are indirectly funding Romney? Public campaign financing by theft?

There are some weird trends is these lists of campaign contributors. The obvious trend with Romney is that most of his contributions come from banks and investment firms. It seems he is even using two of his own companies to contribute to his campaign.

Bain Capital $154,000
Bain & Co $113,300

Now Obama's top contributors are also just as interesting imo. He seems to have a bunch of Universities, perhaps reflecting the possibility many intelligent people sympathize with his social views, just proving they don't pay attention to whether his actions speak for his words.

Then we also have two other major players backing Obama, namely Google and Microsoft. This is some what revealing in my opinion, as these two technology companies probably have more information/intelligence on us all than any other corporations on the planet, except maybe Facebook.

He also has a major global law firm with more than 4200 lawyers all around the world, perhaps explaining a little bit how he manages to pass such absurd laws and overcome and weasel away from all the legal action taken against him over the years.

I'm not American and I've never really looked closely at campaign contributors before, so I'm not sure if this is common practice, but he also appears to be using the federal Government and also the state department to fund his campaign, in a way similar to Romney using his own companies to fund himself.

US Dept of State $106,040
US Government $86,589

Or folks viewing the GOP as being hostile toward teachers and universities. That would seem the simplest explanation as the past two years have been a steady stream of deriding remarks about teachers, universities etc. "hotbeds of socialism" etc.

Companies premised on youth and innovation, vs. Wall Street, Banks and "old" money.

Lawyers almost always lean left. Always has been that way.

The first half of the OP is a list of indivdual contributors....employees making personal contributions and sorted by thier employers.

Otherwise those are State Department employees making personal contributions...Not the State Department.

When younger workers become eligible for Medicare, they will be able to choose from a list of
guaranteed coverage options, enjoying the same kind of choices in their plans that members of Congress enjoy
today. Medicare would then provide a payment to subsidize the cost of the plan.

www.politico.com...

VOUCHER vs. Government payor...with insurance companies hammering seniors as they like...pay or die. They make more money off younger insurees.

Whats blatant is that BOTH of these men,are proof, that the two party system has failed. Seriously,They are both BAD for this Country.

Well, that is a matter of opinion...we've all got them.

I think, based on these numbers, we can all agree "in the least" who the greater of two evils are.

It's the one stealing my money to pay for his campaign:

US Dept of State $106,040
US Government $86,589

I don't support Obama. Why is he using my money to campaign? I believe that's called "extortion" in the legal world.

Here are some differences between Romney's contributors and Obama':

Romney's top contributors so far in his campaign:

Goldman Sachs $535,680

This shows the problem Romney has with relating with the average American as well. He's the Wall Street candidate who is nearly exclusively funded by the rich.

Here in Stockton, our resident billionaire developer, Alex Spanos, threw a fundraiser for Romney last week. Now, mind you, our city has made national news for the past few years for making the top ten list for everything bad in the U.S., from crime to foreclosures to unemployment. Romney jets through town, snags a half million in campaign contributions at the $1,000 per plate Spanos gig, and then jets back out again faster than the blink of an eye. He spoke to no reporters, not even to anyone from our local newspaper. Then, the next day, a former assemblyman of ours was quoted as saying that "Romney was impressed that Stockton could throw such a large event."

REALLY?

The audacity. "Stockton" didn't throw squat for him. The fundraiser was hosted by a billionaire on the billionaire's compound. In fact, when Romney arrived at this event, "Stockton" greeted him with dozens of protestors and RON PAUL supporters who were demonstrating outside the Spanos' compound. There wasn't ONE Romney supporter out there. In fact, the only media interviews that came out of the whole thing were from protestors. The cameramen couldn't pan their cameras away from the front gate of the Spanos residence because there was nothing but demonstrators against Romney standing around.

Romney had no interest in addressing the voters of our high-profile city with even one word. He took the money and ran.

Out of touch? Not only is he out of touch, he's a pompous ass.

Romney has gotten away with so much, so many lies, such a poor campaign and speaking style, and yet he still will probably end up the GOP candidate. The banks and corporations are going "all in" on someone who has already been greatly defined by his opponents as a talking billboard for his sponsors. They are themselves exposed as having poor judgement - and these are the people running the economy, health care system, and funneling the money around. This poor judgement certainly doesn't say much for them or their future goals and plans.

They just did that this year because too many people caught on that the same banks were funding BOTH Obama and McCain in 2008.
