I really just wish the Liberals could take over all aspects of Government. We'd be much safer. We could have a Government Official escort us about town.. help us reach high places at the grocery store, help lift bags into the car, drive us, hold our hand crossing the road, help wash our hair in the shower..

I'd only feel truly safe with a Government Official to ensure my safety 24/7

Genius Brother, sheer genius. Lord knows all this self government has worn me thin. Please give me a nanny state with a spoonful of sugar to help the medicine go down. Have you ever tasted that MSM?

Hmm.. when I was 16 I was driving a Cavalier with 8 people packed inside. The weight distribution and taking a turn at 20mph caused the car to slide sideways a few yard, take out a mailbox, a light pole, and miss 3 children riding bikes by about 5ft.

When I was 17 I was being stupid and racing friends in a parking garage (the wide open kind), we both collided into a support beam. Luckily no one was hurt to bad. Except my poor Cavalier. Had to use a spud bar to open the passenger door.

When I was 18 while driving down the highway without a master break cylinder a cop pulled out in front of an RV, the RV slams on it's breaks sending smoke and rubber into my windshield, I slammed my car into the right side concrete wall at 50mph taking out the entire side of the RV (which, hilariously drove off like it did something wrong). Amazingly I wasn't hurt, but so ended the life of my poor Cavalier.

My point is .. I've never used my car to purposefully hurt someone. But on several occasions, whether I knew it or not, I've come extremely close to injuring other and myself.

I've never accidentally or purposefully come anywhere near shooting someone. So when folks say guns are some great menace to society and demand they be taken away.. one must wonder what causes such a knee-jerk reaction? I've done much more harm to society in my car than I have with my guns.

We should also do away with air,so humans have no reason to breath and live. It would go a long way in stopping the inconsiderate suffering,we humans impose on everything else, that lives,on this Planet.

I will not feel safe and secure until I'm neatly tucked in my Official Federal Gubment artificial womb. Hooked up to my gubment approved feeding tube, and gubment issued IV concoction on constant drip secured to my stump, that used to be an arm, but no longer needed now.

It sure is good to be this safe, and loved, by my gubment....isn't it...

Victims or families/friends of gun victims? Maybe the area one lives in? Just attempting to answer the question, not being a wiseguy or gun abolisher.

LOL. You're so totally right! Down with Oxygen! It's flammable! We could all DIE if it sticks around.

Occupy Air! We are the 100% (that breathe)!

Just to show you how magnanimous I can be, I am fine with you breathing, brother. It's the goddamned exhalation of carbon dioxide that's causing all this anthropogenic global warming that has to be stopped! Just relax, take a breath, hold it and don't let go.

Cars are great, when not stuck in traffic, I love driving, but as a primary transportation system, it is insane. I am surprised there aren't more auto related deaths.

They have trapped us in suburbia, the way businesses have been set up, and banks willing to loan money, and through various other means, were we are just intelligent cattle, slaves feeding the system.

We couldn't be better set up for an alien invasion looking to dine on human flesh, so corralled are we.

All for the profits of big industry, cars, oil, insurance, mortgage lenders, leading us to cradle to grave debt.

We should be working twenty hours weeks with current production capabilities, living good lives spending more time raising our children to be good human beings.

We should be driving electric pneumatic hybrid cars that are much lighter, and far more efficient. With train systems that allow us to drive our small vehicles up onto a independent car that goes where ever we program it to go for long distance travel. Instead we get body scanned when we need to travel long distances.

Instead we are morphing into a deadly virus, killing the body that supports us. How do we kill the civilization disease?

Its going to get ugly in the next few decades. Sad to see it all going so badly.

"I've done much more harm to society in my car than I have with my guns."

Yes, you most certainly have.
I was the same way when younger, although it sounds like I was much luckier with my driving fiascos.

I often find myself thinking about voluntarily giving up my motor vehicles. Whenever I see an ad for car insurance explaining how much they can save me, I always imagine how much I can save with no cars. I already walk, ride a bike, take a bus or train to many places.

It is very nice to have cars to get around, but that is not why I am hanging onto them. If enough people gave up cars, then I imagine the economy would choke much more. Therefore, it's my patriotic duty to tear up the back-roads, highways, and main streets.

LOL.I love your rationale behind this.

I guess I could live without a car if I really needed to. But it's nice to be able to pop over the mountains to Kelowna or take a daytrip to Seattle when I want. It's freedom that I like to have and is worth my coin. For now. Plus, it's my patriotic duty to drive!

Pretty decent analagy....but I might have a more "practical" one......SO....you say you should take away guns from law abiding citizens because they can "kill" with such ease?? Hmmm?? And so where does this insanity stop? Will you then take away my knives?? because I can sure as hell kill on the first strike with a knife! Ok, so now you take away all my knives and sharp objects.......Now what will you take away?? OH! My baseball bat?? Because I can sure as hell kill with only ONE swing of that Muther!! Ok, Ok....now what?? OH, wait, guns dont kill people, people kill people....so now youre going to cut off my hands and arms?? DO all the "gun haters" see and understand yet?? Or are you insanely blind and wish to stay that way?? Make sure your "argument follows" when you present it.....and if you dont know what it means for an "argument to follow", google "word logic". YOU CANNOT STOP PEOPLE FROM KILLING OTHER PEOPLE, IF PEOPLE WANT TO KILL OTHER PEOPLE!! Take their guns, they'll use knives or homemade explosives....take those theyll use sticks and bricks......WAKE THE FUDGE UP !!

The world would be a much safer place if every woman who conceived was forced to have an abortion. No people left to kill people with cars, guns or pollution.

I am very much starting to enjoy you OP. I like your ideas, and you are a very entertaining writer. Well spoken, fun and I like that you put a bit of flair into the posts.

Agree.

On a Serious note. I believe Political correctness, will be the undoing of us all. We cannot continue to rationalize EVERYTHING,and impose restrictions, based on this type of correctness. It will always be a flawed concept, because being human, will always be an inherent flaw,we cannot escape from.

Thank you, my friend. You know, my mother spent a good portion of my childhood constantly reminding I was supposed to be an abortion but I was born before Roe v. Wade so my poor mother, and now the rest of the world has had to suffer the insufferable me! Thanks for suffering along with the rest of the world...

...I'm sorry mama...I never meant to hurt you...but tonight, I'm putting the pedal to the metal and getting the hell out of Dodge...or Chevy...or Ford...

Motor vehicles are essential in making people productive, therefore they will never be taken from them.

The amount of death they cause is irrelevant because the economy always comes before human life.

Don't worry, economic realities are going to end widespread use of the gasoline powered vehicle soon anyway.

Tar sands won't save us when the sweet light crude runs out, and that will be very soon.

We will probably see economic Armageddon before the end of this decade, if not sooner.

But it will be far better for the common man. The organic farmers are going to be the ones in the right position.

Whew! If you are correct, then the gun industry is safe...for now.

Maybe if people had to go back to shoveling horse manure regularly, the whole political correctness concept might disappear.

That might be worth it.
