Come to think of it, time to take the poisons away from the American public!

Neither poison, or motor vehicles are Constitutionally protected by the federal government, yet the federal government turns its head to these most disturbing statistics. To hell with rights! To hell with freedom! To hell with the American public! Time to put that ever so annoying American public in its place!

If only someone would try to take away the MSM instead this country would be a whole hell of a lot safer.

Doesn't matter. The pure price of petrol will stymy much of this country in the coming months so the select few will be driving anyway.

Hmmm, I can appreciate the analogy, but what I first thought of is how many car fatalities were accidents verses intentional gunshot fatalities?

ETA: FTR I am not a "git rid of all the guns" person.

Can we then sell them illegally in Mexico so they can use them to run over our border agents?

Jeeze, I think you just brought me to that 'I don't want to know anymore' point. The only appropriate words I have left at the moment would get me banned.

What's with all these threads about "Time to take away this and that from the public"?

No, they shouldn't be taken away "for safety".

"Safety" is a load of crap.

I realize you're thread is probably sarcastic, but don't give them any ideas!

technological advancement are mankind's charachteristic. Without it we are nothing but primitive animals. If some milions of people (in all the 7 bilion we are) can't deal with technology, it's their problem. I can, and you can, and this technology has to stay available for the ones that CAN use it.

Agreed, cars arnt the problem, its the people.

If people just learnt to pay attention and not drive in la la land 90% of accidents would be eliminated.

people over 60 go for a driving test every 6 months.

Everyone should be required to ride a motorcycle. THEN you'll learn to pay attention to your surroundings or your dead.

Ya think? It is precisely technological advancement that government has used as an end-run around Constitutional restraint. Sure, you talk the talk, but are you a licensed driver? Did you surrender your unalienable right to drive for the "privilege" of driving? I hope not! Such a thing would hardly be walking the walk.

And on that note, it is also time to take red meat, carbohydrates, any oil used for frying, and cigarettes away from the American Public!
Don't forget about kites. They pose a lightning death risk.

Cars don't kill people. People kill people! Before you know it this will have to become a bumper sticker, preferably before they take your car away.

I think that stuff is already banned in restaurants in NY city...

Yup, we know whats best fer ya.

NY TIMES

The New York City Board of Health voted yesterday to adopt the nation’s first major municipal ban on the use of all but tiny amounts of artificial trans fats in restaurant cooking, a move that would radically transform the way food is prepared in thousands of restaurants, from McDonald’s to fashionable bistros to Chinese take-outs.

That reminds me of years ago, when my dad didn't want me to get a driver's license, and we fought, and he gave in.
When I passed the test, he gave me the car, and said "congratulations, here's your 3000 lb weapon".

I never planned on using it for self defense, never needed to either.
Nor did I ever hit anyone with it...

Although, there are people who flip out and try to hit people with their autos, just like the people who flip out and shoot people.
Bullets and autos would both be hard to run from.

I wonder what the stats are for purposely killing someone, for both autos and guns?

Damned that wacky crazy Benjamin Franklin! He may have given us a republic - if we can keep it - but he also gave us the danger of flying kites with keys tied to the string in the rain, and you should know that one of the 600,000 plus acts of legislation prohibits you from flying kites in the rain...okay, I don't know if that is true, but Jeez.

I really just wish the Liberals could take over all aspects of Government. We'd be much safer. We could have a Government Official escort us about town.. help us reach high places at the grocery store, help lift bags into the car, drive us, hold our hand crossing the road, help wash our hair in the shower..

I'd only feel truly safe with a Government Official to ensure my safety 24/7

That is my point: if the Governement has technology, how will you counteract his plan if you don't have technology? I wont go very far with punches if faced with heat wave gun, you know.
