The man who gave The World Of Rock Music it's "Sound" is no longer with us.
A true pioneer.

Enjoy your journey Mr Marshall. Your name will live as long as this civilization lasts!
Thanks to The Who for helping you kick-start an industry of Power!

I've never been a Marshall fan, but the man is a legend for a reason!

edit on 4/5/2012 by the_philth because: Because the OCD in me told me to.

MY first amp was a Marshall and even though i switched to Hughes & Kettner and Mesa/Boogie since then i still like the sound good Marshall amps produce (still work best with a Stratocaster in my oppinion)

Besides being the pioneer of guitar amps and loud amps at that, i'm impressed with his life. Diagnosed with tubercular bones and dropping out of high school due world war 2, he never had a real education, he wasn't really healthy but that didn't matter to him and made something out of his life.

Not only did he create Marshall but he also teached drumming to Mitch Mitchell from Jimmy Hendrix Experience, Mick Underwood who worked a long time with Ian Gilland and Micky Waller from Steampacket who also worked with Jeff Beck. Quite impressive i might say.

It's a shame that so only few people here have to say something about him
