ok i have to admit that clip (which i haven't seen before) would support these being planes. i would still like to know which squadron was at play here, and to what end?

From memory its a display put on by newly qualified pilots to the Air force as a kind of passing out ceremony .
Here they are again .



UPDATE: Marcos González, of Agrupación Canopus, Chile, confirms that “sure, the night flight of the Air Force planes are a phenomenon that repeats itself every year around this time of the year and has been in many occasions recorded by the surprised spectators”
