Many years ago, I had this nearly every night. After waking up in the early hours and then attempting to go back to sleep, I would hear this intense,
deafening buzzing as I fell asleep, which would cause me to wake up. This could happen over 10 times in one night. This happened most nights and was
unpleasant to say the least, especially as it usually was accompanied by very vivid, emotionally linked nightmares. Fun.
I also had a problem of consciously waking up, but my body was paralyzed. This was not fun either, however as soon as I learnt to control my fear, and
be relaxed I could wake up my body with but a thought. The control felt liberating.
Due to at times not being able to sleep for days, chronic insomnia, I have been on medication ever since. Even though I dream, it is like watching a
movie, with no emotional attachment. I have not experienced any of the above issues since. Those problems plagued me for years.
