The rude ones on evening and nightshift could be fun, though, because it was a little bit looser of an environment. I had only a few really memorable
Angry Customer: "You're all thieves! Thieving WHORES! Your mother's a WHORE!!" (re: billing charges)
Me: "If you know my mom, then you know her rates are just as competitive as ours are."
Then there was the heavy breather/obscene caller. We found that many of them were married men calling in the middle of the night while their wives
slept. I got one guy panting and carrying on and he wouldn't cut it out. Kept calling and calling. So I ran a report to get his number and waited
until around 5:30 to call him back. As I suspected, his wife answered. I told her where I was calling from and that we'd gotten several calls in
the night from her number with someone who seemed to be having difficulty breathing. Told her the person was just panting and huffing and we were
concerned that it might have been due to an athsma attack or something. She said "Nobody here's got asthma, but somebody's gonna be in pain!" and
as she hung up I could hear her already starting to yell. ::
Then my favorite... a drunk who thought he had the number for an escort service. Offered $10,000 for me to come over. I told him that; 1) He had the
wrong number, and 2) Ten grand for a piece of tail is outrageous and for that kind of money I'd think he'd get 3 or 4 girls to come over if he ever
finds the right number. He argued, just STOOPID drunk, so finally I told him 4 of us would be over in about 45 minutes and to wait. And we don't
take checks. I'm guessing he passed out waiting and saved himself some cash.
