The unedited background image is found here:

hdw.eweb4.com...

It was the second result in google image search for "new york city at sunset."

I don't notice anything different in this original than the one in the OP.

Great find, well done!!

So for comparison sake here they both are again.

Now I am curious if the superimposed image over this background is in the public domain or is this a personal picture.

So then I was right?? "They" superimposed a street, which points directly at the new WTC building. Anybody else peep that?

Did they question the two
guys in the picture?
I mean the tsa is strip searching
nuns and 4 year old cripple boys
those two in the picture look like
they are up to something sinister.

I wonder.... Has it occurred to anyone that this image may have absolutely no meaning at all? I'm completely serious. What do American graphic design students "doodle" or choose to do while learning Adobe? After seeing the Inspire rag they put out of Yemen, I have to grudgingly admit, this isn't the Al Qaeda of the 90's by any means.

It could very well be some Jihadi (Or even some person just throwing it out there to get a personal warped laugh) who thought it looked neat and had to create something for graphics, so why not that?

the image. Its actually a creepy
image, not very New York for some
odd reason. I think the image was
well planned out but maybe I am
reading too much into it.

The boys t-shirt, I thought the same thing as you by the way, the design on his shirt almost looks to be one of those QR codes.... Can anyone zoom in without loosing focus?

Anyway, short of being kind of funny, since, as the one poster already pointed out, terrorists do not go announcing terror attacks as if it is some kind of PR stunt for a movie... but people will be frightened and act stupid because this is the way of those with diminished capacity

Seriously people, don't be worrying about it. The government just wants more excuses to take away the rights of Americans. The more afraid you are, the more constitutional rights you happily and joyfully hand over as if they were meaningless...

I want to take a minute for some logical thought, just for sake of common sense.

In this country you need an ID to buy Sudafed, because you might be able to make a drug with it, which is illegal. Its certainly not as if one can go buy bomb making material, and more certainly not enough to take out any building. Yes with enough forethought a person can do some measure of damage, maybe kill a few people, but this is about it. It would take years and years of planning and smuggling in order to do anything serious, and it would require a large number of people involved, not just a few.

(Everyone who wants to fly is practically strip searched so hijacking is out of the question.. the only reason the last bomber made it through security is because the FEDs escorted him through without being searched... see Haskell haskellfamily.blogspot.com...)

Now the last time (even assuming this was real) there was an attack it was by a handful of Saudi's, this gave the US license, according to their logic, to kill somewhere around 2 million people, and not one from Saudia. Nevertheless because of approximately 3,000 lives it cost the ME people 2 million, not exactly worth another attack... what was the benefit for the terrorists? I see none. Entire countries have been destroyed and an entire way of life in something very closely resembling genocide for those 3,000 lives. This is not a benefit.

Don't believe a word of it. Seriously - if so much planning, time and money goes into an attack, why tip off the world about what you're intending to do before you do it? They must keep everything top secret and under wraps to avoid getting scuppered by the authorities - no way they would then advertise it online.

My bet is some weird kid with no friends sat in his bedroom with nothing better to do than mess about with photoshop to try and cause some panic and see how far and widespread he can get the picture. His 5 minutes of fame are over...

Whoever make the picture either doesn't understand/know the topography in the NYC area, or might be trying to throw people. I didn't get the feeling they were trying to invoke fear with NYC as the target--San Francisco actually came to my mind first based on the presumed elevation of the superimposed street.

The word ALQAEDA is enough to make me switch off! No offense to the OP at all, but imo ALQAEDA is just a fairy tale and should not be taken seriously.

It is interesting to me how this picture has generated so much speculation. My first impression was that some entity has used this as an attempt to distract and distort by pointing away from their own deeds.

From my perspective, the Global Bankster Cabal (or whatever name one wants to put to global financial terrorists) has overtly ruined the lives of hundreds of thousands of families in America and across the globe in a "boiling frogs" fashion for 11 years now, Humanity has awakened to the true "terrorists."

Their antics are going to come to an end and soon. They are desperate to regenerate fear into the population. Don't give them what they want.

Found on an Al Qaida forum? Are they serious?

Is there a "Contact Us" link on the website? Maybe a polite call or email to the Al Qaida PR department might shed some light on their activities!

I mean, in this day and age of constant monitoring of email, messaging systems, telephone calls etc, they try to make us believe AQ use chat rooms and forums to discuss their evil plots?
I have not once seen a link to any of these so called AQ or evil Muslim Jihadist websites the media always quote from. Nothing, Nada, Zero, Zip! If they provided a link on some of these stories, then we could all take the opportunity to join in and try to talk them out of their evil ways and dastardly plots.

Unfortunately, I am sure there are plenty of people still hanging on every word the MSM say or print, who will go to bed a little more frightened by this story and be thankful the next time they are stopped in the street and groped by some federal goon.

thank you for calling Al-Qaeda INTL.. Due to our high call volume, it may take several minutes to get a representative on the line.. Para espanol, diga "espanol"..... How can we help you today? You can say anything from: "my vest won't go off", to, "where are we meeting next?", so, in a few words, tell me the reason for your call.

I more meant the element of surprise was on the citizens of NY. Regardless, of who knew, or knows of any future attacks, the citizens are generally the one's taken by surprise with these attacks, obviously of course, because if citizens knew, then what would be the point of the attack?

With the Passover holiday starting Friday night there is already a whole lot of tension in this area of the U.S. with the current hostile climate having to do with Israel. That and everyone is fearing more copy cat incidents like what happened in France. There is going to be increased police presence this weekend already without this ad.

Maybe a group is playing on this heightened tension to rile up the already tense police force.

Lol, just some image that some young troll made for laughs, whether he's al-qaida or not. Seems to have got some publicity and worked, no?

This may be something, or it may be nothing (just like the picture itself), but I believe the word "FIRE" is on the road by the left of the signage. Clearly the first letter is an "F", and most likely the second letter is an "I". The third can only be an "X", "K" or "R", and the last appears to resemble an "E".

The word on the street that follows "FIRE" appears to be "LANE", which would make sense. This also may account for the "DO NOT CROSS" plank.

Ah, and I just figured out the other words on the street. "BUS ONLY".

Again, probably nothing, but maybe It'll be a fire on a bus.

Anyone with intermediate knowledge in Photoshop and Illustrator can doctor that image. It's really not that well made. It was probably made using 2 main layers; the background of the city and the street in the foreground. Take a close look at where the foreground meets the background and the manipulation becomes obvious. The text was probably its own separate layer. I'd assume it was just a joke; why would a terrorist organization advertise an attack beforehand?

Unless the purpose of this is to get DHS, CIA, and FBI to waste resources investigating the possibility of another attack, I don't see much point to it.

So the 'authorities' are investigating (looking into/have not yet concluded) a possible internet threat, which is actually just a picture.

I feel safer/dumber already.
