So our next step would be to make organised religion in western society illegal, remove the church and pope from power. Each religous building (including masonic lodges) in each town can be changed from church to "community centre". If people such as my grandmother want somewhere to go on a sunday, they can go and socialise with other people from their community.
Then we would want to investigate the backrounds of all government staff and officals and remove those of any religion.
I believe these steps to be fundemental in humanities recovery and advancement. Very interested in what other people think about this?

It seems most atheists and nonbelievers are simply lacking in knowledge.
They refuse to see the truth presented right in front of them.
Look at stephen hawkings - one of the "brightest" men alive - the answer to all his problems - God.
Yet he refuses to believe.

We didn't get created by a man in his own image. I'm sorry if this is news to you.
Could you accept that the universe is pointless?

There are many religions, but one God, and all religions refer to the one.

Nah, wrong there mate. Many religions, many deities. Monotheism is a relatively new concept. The Abramic belief systems got that ball rolling.
Half naked dude standing in the jungle, painted in vibrant colors and holding a bowl of ayahuasca says "many gods". An elaborately robbed old man with a bejeweled staff stands on a balcony at the vatican and says "one god"......which is telling the truth?

Key word "believe".
Key word for Stephen Hawkings "proof"
Lacking knowledge in what? Belief is not knowledge.
There is real historical knowledge of the time "mythical biblical Jesus" was supposed to have lived. Too bad no one mentions him.

When it comes to the question of a creator, even Stephen H. must surrender to the theory of philosophy. He has not yet presented any proof or evidence that "without doubt" can reject a creator.
When it comes to religion we face at least two major problems. And that is human intervention. And human interpretation. Religion might be right and true. But our interpretation is wrong.
