China rejected President Barack Obama's decision to move forward with plans for sanctions on countries buying oil from Iran, saying Saturday that Washington had no right to unilaterally punish other nations.

naturally

"The Chinese side always opposes one country unilaterally imposing sanctions against another according to domestic law. Furthermore it does not accept the unilateral imposition of those sanctions on a third country," the ministry said in a brief statement Saturday.

but here's some thing to consider ...but i don't believe it (imo)

China has the right to import oil from Iran or any other country while quietly reducing imports of Iranian oil. Though the government has not explained the reductions, oil traders and industry executives have said it may stem more from a pricing dispute with Iran than as a response to U.S. pressure.

but the u.s cares..

The main importers of Iranian oil that have not received exemptions from the U.S. are China, India, Turkey, South Africa and South Korea. The administration would be loath to hit a close friend like South Korea or India, or a NATO ally like Turkey, with sanctions, and is working with those countries to reduce their imports.

pressure..pressure..pressure..

The U.S. sanctions are set to take effect on June 28...Obama administration officials contend Iran is about to face its most severe economic pressure ever.

India doesn't care about sanctions too..

Energy-starved India, which relies on Iranian oil for 12 percent for its power needs, has said that it does not heed unilateral sanctions such as those imposed by the U.S. and EU...

In February, India irked the West by arranging to make 45 percent of its yearly $11 billion oil payments to Iran in Indian rupees, with the rest paid in a barter system as Tehran seeks Indian-made machinery, iron and steel, minerals and automobiles.

oil sanctions simply ain't easy..the u.s could see a major failure with sanctions on Iran..when the demand is goin only upwards

Take a guess at what countries Iran sells the majority of its oil to... China (22% of Iranian oil exports) and India. (13% of of Iranian oil exports)

It would be stupid for the Chinese and Indians to impose sanctions against Iran, because they would be the ones most affected. If the Chinese, Russians and Indians were to implement sanctions against Saudi Arabia based on fabricated evidence, do you think that the US would go along blindly? Absolutely not. This is no different.

Obama came out here and said he was completely confident that the market could handle the loss of Iranian Oil and the world should have NOOOO problem with prices or supply.

Well...The rest of the world isn't buying that line of crap, it appears...and India is only one that is looking and knows full well that following these sanctions is financially self destructive to them. Obama has less than a year until he's a bad memory and the damage some nations already hurting could take aren't worth it. Obama won't see much success I'm thinking...

..but then people tried to tell him this because Bush, Clinton, Bush and Reagan ALL tried this stupid garbage to one degree or another. We can't force peace in the Middle East because the people living there are indifferent to it. It's like teaching a pig to sing...only this pig shoots and blows things up when it gets pissed.

Heck..China is just having fun yanking our chain and Iran is more important to them than we are right now. We NEED them and they know it.... There is only so much we can do and they know that too...so why should China even pay attention to Obama's barking?

Cut their oil supply because of us. No right to punish a country? They don't seem to have a problem punishing Tibet.

At times, govs do have their hands tied behind their backs, as there is only so much one can do with diplomacy, such as now, with China, Russia, and India absolving themselves of their responsibilities and obligations to the FREE world, such as now, totally, absolutely and always going against the will of humanity. It has become the norm.

But no matter.

When govs, representatives of People of the free world, have their hands tied, then IT IS UP to FREE People to stand up by themselves. The solution lays in:-

TRADE IS THE LIFE BLOOD OF THE WORLD.

Why did those callous nations thumb their middle fingers to world humanity? It is only because of oil from the persian infidel ayatollahs. And why? So that they can produce more manufacture goods or aid the power supply to their country to manufacture more goods to the world.

Thus, WHY should Free humanity be morons to pay those callous nations to ensure the extermination of Mankind???

Why are we buying their goods so that they can be paid to ensure our own and loved one deaths? Those poor quality goods from China, russia and india are cheap, but are our own precious human lives more cheaper than their goods???

Every dollar that buys their products fund the cycle to exterminate mankind. There will be the unconscionable rich whom cares not for politics or social suffering. They are the ones whom set up factories in those lands to enslave our fellow human there, or become middle man to import the goods into this country, for profits. They only care about their own wealth. When others suffer or die, they care not. BUT when even a cent is not earned, they will weep buckets.

BOYCOTT them all. Instead of them showing us the middle fingers, let us all show OURS to them. We may either pay more, or live without those goods, for we mankind believe ours and our loved one lives are more precious than to support the extermination of mankind. We would be fools to support genocide.

If the poor, whom often have no choice, have to resort to cheap groups from the exterminators. Let them and let them know what they had truly paid for, and try to find means to help them. But the majority whom are middle class and rich, let us all boycott them, and let them know the consequences of their irresponsiblities to us.

We humanity will make them bankrupt and lose their power, for they will need the money to pay their cronies to stay in power, be evicted and replaced with better and more responsible gov to better heed mankind's need.

Let us all mankind together, by discussing with and convincing our families, relatives and friends, to act with moral compass, with conscience as guide. The spirit of mankind will always truimph over acts of evil such as greed, genocide and enslavement., for the sake of ours and future innocent generations to come.

China is currently buying oil from Syria, and Iran is shipping it to China using Iranian vessels. China also is stull purchasing oil from Iran. the snactions on Iranian oil is by nations of consent and not UN so China is free to do business with whomever they wish, including Iran and Syria.

However, chian might be standing alone. An article that ran in Bloomberg from the Russian Foreign minister spoke volumes and was a warning to Iran.

How about we see the people of Iran make a change to their government removing the top turbins from the equation. Will they allow that to occur?

China is not yanking the US by the chain. It just want to go on with day to day operations without being dragged into this US/Israel/Iran thing. To them if the US wants to attack then just go ahead instead of all these prolonged nonsensical sanctions which are directly affecting other countries economies. China has many times stated that it will not get involved in conflicts of other countries that have no bearing on their national security. They were involved in Vietnam and Korea because the war was on their backyard. They will not take sides and they expect the US to do likewise when they move in on Taiwan....that is if they want to do it militarily.

Man...you already know the answer. Americans in the US enjoy more "rights" and freedom than the Iranians but they can't do anything about their government so what can those Iranians do. There are a lot of "what if" when it comes to Iran and nuclear energy. With nuclear energy they will definitely go one more step to have a nuclear bomb but then you'll have to trust that they don't use it. Even rabid country like N Korea hasn't used it. So far in history, only the US had used the atomic bombs on two Japanese cities.

I never claimed to have all the answers. I do know that I would rather deal with NATO than Islam. Why is that so wrong? Or are you a part of one of those hate the US no matter what crowds?

As far as the ignorant comment about the US using a nuke how about you guys who like to play that idiot ass card put it in perspective and learn history before trying to wing it? Japan attacked the US, not the other way around. Germany declared war on the US, not the other way around. If they were not prepared to get their asses handed to them then maybe they should have listened to Yamamoto and not attack the US?

Secondly Germany and Japan both were working on their respective nuke programs and had either one of then made it there first, the outcome of WWII would have been very different. So please, save your breath on the lecture about the US using nuclear weapons when we werent the ones who started the war in the first place.

We used nukes to end the war, not start one, let alone with the intention of wiping an entire country off the planet, as Iran has consistently suggested occur to Israel.

What other ignorant comments would you like to make that I can correct you on?

How?

Sure they would.. Why would they develop a weapon then not use it? Both Germany and Japan had resource issues, even more as they gained territory. If the programs were not to be used, why waste the limited resources?

I beleive that had Germany or Japan obtained nukes they would have used them. If anything I could see them relocating the undesireables to the affected areas. Kill 2 birds with one stone so to speak.

For the same reason the US did. To put an end to the war and hope to come out of it as a victor. At that time in history all that was needed was 2 nukes going off to end the war. I think Japan and Germany would be ok using the same strategy. Set a few off and let the enemy surender. The affected areas will be off limits, leaving the rest of the land / infrastructure / resources etc intact.

As far as Japan goes, Yamamoto warned the Japanese government about going to war with the US -

"I fear all we have done is to awaken a sleeping giant and fill him with a terrible resolve."

Logic would dictate, based on Yamamoto's observation, that the fastest method would be used in order to trump the enemy and knock them out of the war. Again even more so in Japans case because of the geographic locations and resource issues.

With that being said and to bring it back around, Russia recently warned Iran over their nuke program and stated Iran was now violating the IAEA / NPT ptreaty obligations. That action places China as the cheese stands alone. China's government is to shrewed to not have contingeny plans that revolved around ending support for Iran.
