Armed men broke into a the office of Egyptian mobile phone giant Orascom and kidnapped two men - Mustafa Abdel Latif and Mahmud Turki - Thursday night. The abductors drove the captives away in a black BMW. On Wednesday, six other Orascom employees were taken near Fallujah, apparently from their homes.

BAGHDAD, Iraq Sept. 24, 2004 — Gunmen broke into a mobile phone company office in Baghdad and seized two Egyptian employees, government officials said Friday, while the family of a British hostage shown pleading for his life on a video earlier this week awaited word on his fate.

The employee told AFP that another six technicians working for the local Iraqna operator licensed by Orascom were snatched on Wednesday near the restive city of Fallujah, west of Baghdad.

"My colleague called me on Wednesday to say that six of our colleagues were kidnapped that day in the afternoon near Fallujah," the expatriate employee said.

This comes just a week after the kidnapping of two Americans and one British national. The Americans have both been confirmed killed, but the fate of the British man is still unknown. The US says there is only one woman of importance in custody and they don't plan on releasing her.

These kidnappers are getting more and more daring literally taking them right out of their office and driving away with them. And where are the security guards that are meant to be protecting these people, Its was bad enough having two Americans and one Briton kidnapped I blame the security force assigned to protect these people.

They work for the Iraqna telecommunications firm which provides a mobile phone service and in which Egyptian company Orascom has a sizeable stake.

The Egyptian authorities also confirmed that another four Egyptians working for the company outside the capital were kidnapped on Wednesday.

An official at Egypt's embassy in Baghdad told AP news agency four Iraqis had also been seized, but that one had been released.
