Please stop posting about the most sick crimes you can find

I'm not going to post this in the Rant forum, because I not only think that it is relevant to this forum, but I also want it to get some serious exposure, so that hopefully people will stop.

I just saw a thread in the Breaking Alternative News forum, about how four people had been offered in an act of human sacrifice in Mexico. This is an example of something which is not news that we need to know about. It is fear porn, pure and simple.

It is not in any way justifiable, for people to continue posting every example of that type of story that they can find, on this site. I don't need to know about corrupt police bashing people, children killing each other, people offering each other in human sacrifices, or whatever other graphic example of human depravity that you people are able to dredge up.

This is not, contrary to what some have dishonestly tried to claim, consistent with the purpose of this forum. ATS is intended to promote insight and genuine education into the reason why the world is the way it is, yes; but in the area of contextual analysis, rather than simply being a place where we can all read about the most brutal and psychopathic murder that happened last week.

The other issue is, that I know full well that you people are not primarily interested in solutions, so do not try to lie to both of us that that is the case. You want to read about people being brutalised, killed, and/or sexually abused because you are addicted to drama and conflict. You might try and lie that it is important to have those stories here, because it supposedly helps us figure out the reasons why they happen, but that is not the real reason why you want that sort of material.

You want to wallow in it. You want to ooh and ahh over it, and talk to each other about how obviously the world is going to end soon, because it can't possibly get much more depraved than this, and continue to exist at all. In the case of the conservative hypocrites in particular, some of you want to get up on a high horse and proclaim to the rest of us how you would never do such sick, evil things; so shouldn't we all consider you incredibly righteous because of it?

As a final point, in response to a thread from Leftist that CNN had recently lost half its' viewership because of the unmitigated crap that they have been screening recently, I stated that although television was dying, the stupidity and mindless lack of intelligence was simply moving online. I cited Kony 2012 and the Trayvon Martin garbage as exhibits for the prosecution.

I'm asking the staff to get involved here. ATS badly needs to lift its' game in general terms, right now. There have been a lot of complaints about this recently, and they are entirely valid and legitimate.

Please get over your addiction to rubbish, ATS. As well as the attrocity stories mentioned above, I also don't come here to listen to yet another white supremacist, fascist idiot make a thread about how they supposedly finally have scientific proof, that every other ethnic group is biologically inferior to Whitey.

It's the 21st century, FFS. Grow up. If we were still living in mud brick or cobblestone hovels with an appropriate technological level, I might be able to consider that sort of talk tolerable, if not justifiable, but we are not the species equivalent of pre-adolescence any more; or at least we shouldn't be. There is no other way to say this; the level of white supremacist racism observed on this forum is simply disgusting. It is inexcusable. You should know better, and if you do not, get psychiatric help.

However, I also do not care, on the other side of the fence, about black people being shot; or about said black people supposedly rising up and threatening to cause America to disintegrate into mayhem, because they are feeling victimised. Black people die every day, in presumably more or less the same numbers that white people do. If they don't get shot, many of them still die. It's called the human condition.

So please, ATS. No more racism, and no more fear porn about violent crimes. Political and economic analysis, among other things, are fine; but the daily brutalisation or murder of a civilian by a cop, or yet another white supremacist diatribe, is not. It doesn't accomplish anything positive, and it needs to end.

Please stop reading them.

When I'm not in the mood for doom I just don't click on doom oriented threads, easy as that. Reading every single one is enough to make someone go absolutely insane, there is plenty of depravity in the world for those who long to find it. Ignore it as best you can and don't contribute to it.

I feel your pain OP. It's the overall content of the site nowadays and the ideas generated here that is getting hard to take for me. I've seen smoke from yearly grazing land burns from satellite hoaxed up as steam venting. UFOs as well as the lack of evidence, or common understanding of some basic knowledge is at an all time craziness as well as many other things.

More posts offering no thought, nor contribution to the topic at hand other than to take a few swipes at members not agreed with. How frustrating is it to be involved in a good thread, then have someone come in and post something completely off the wall, proving they haven't read beyond the first post or two before posting in a dozen page thread.

I'm here to learn, and to learn the truth without obscuring it. It seems like that isn't really going on right now on ATS..

Trying would be censorship for an unrealistic cause. I see where you're coming from but we really can't do anything other than not contribute to such threads.

Well with this site, there is a lot of APATHY. With that goes the acts of men that others can not control, until they become so apathetic that they can not be controlled.

It's like a serial killer who does it because it simply gets them off. There is no rhyme or reason to it really. People become so obsessed with things that they can not control until they become that control freak that no one else can control.

My two cents. Interesting thread anyways, but don't put too much thought into it.

Half of the time I won't even log in because of my own opinion,and the other half I'm engulfed with plenty of useless information that I find from the search menu,which is almost never ending and very informative to my liking

you are right. If some of us needs this, then they can find it in the mainstream media. there are a few exceptions which are relevant to this site, but most of it is just doesn't belong here.

The world is a very place full of horrible atrocities. This is a fact of life and not reporting these atrocities would be to deny a part of our existence. People need to know details and be disturbed, offended or disgusted in order to drive them to take action. If they aren't forced to open their eyes people are prone to pull the "oh well, it's not affecting me so I don't care" routine.

By ignoring the details of atrocities you're also denying yourself crucial insights into the way criminals think, the way they behave and why they do what they do. Without that information you can't make an educated opinion on what needs to be done to fix the problem.

I understand some people may not be ready to face such truths, or may not be psychologically able to handle the horrible things we keep doing to each other. I would expect in those situations, the person would be self-aware enough to recognise when they read a headline or article summary whether the full details of the story are going to be something they can digest or whether it's something they should probably skip.

This is a conspiracy site, not -------------------------!

All threads are suppose to be conspiracy related, unless other forums permits it, like rant et cetera.

I myself despise every Ron Paul thread I see.

In terms of sick crimes specifically, I agree. I couldn't agree more in fact. I don't mind reading about crimes. Some of them are precedent setting, so to speak or legitimately news worthy in some other way. I'm sure not talking about them all and I didn't read your op to be saying that either?

I am sure tired of the people seemingly trolling the net deliberately hunting for the most obscene, vile and offensive piece of news the T&C's will tolerate being posted, just to milk the Stars and Flags on reaction.

I think the best example in my mind would be the contrast between threads on the Dolphins and how they'd died...both in the cove killings posted last year and the recent Peru beach deaths...and threads not long ago where someone was killing animals as a spectator sport for the net to watch. One was valid news..the other made me question the one posting the thread as much as the one who was the criminal in the story.

There alot of violent crime stories on ATS that actually helped me in the recent past, avoid getting involved/in the line of fire or hurt/killed because of the circumstances in those crimes.
