the lake of fire is something you burn in real-time, we all do...

no actually... I am talking about imprinting.

if I never known the world would we have had nightmares?

consciousness could very well go on after death and we take this with us in the little nips of it we get at night maybe.

if this was heaven on earth then we would not know the world as it is.

just speculating here, its a mystery.

maybe we have to make it heaven on earth for the evils of the world to go away?

what was before Hell? or before we could pen our description of it... (a violent aggressive beast like race of humans)

inside yes,

the world hurts... alot of the times it's hard to numb.

some don't want to take it with them at night anymore... some do not even want to participate in it.

if you have a goal in life, it's ok. something to compensate the load.

some just stay away form it...

it's better that way when you have to use money as a tool... all routes are scrambled.

no way home...

There were some parts of hell that where implemented as a bit medieval, but to say that hell is not imaginary is a bit far. Like you said, even the Hindus believed in a type of punishment. Many religions all had an understanding of a type of punishment, it makes no sense for there to be no punishment. When you read the bible you notice people don't truly understand hell, it is a separation from God. You probably didn't know that there is a big difference between torment and torture when understanding hell. To be tortured is a bit evil, God is good and would never do such a thing. So to explain the torment is to describe breaking up with the person you love, or to be home sick. Have you ever felt being distant from the person you love? Multiply that by a billion and you can understand that hell is truly evil. So, the point of describing the difference was to show that God is not the one inflicting the pain, you are wallowing in your own guilt and understanding of your sins. There are many religions that believe in a type of "hell', and I have read many people come from the brink of death to describe in exact detail what hell is. These people have no idea on what hell is and are piratically brain dead. My opinion is a simple one, there are many people out there trying to confuse others about the truth. The truth gets diluted and you try to find the original. In the bible it even states that the truth would be has been diluted, reading many of Jesus's teaching shed a light into what the truth is. So it is good that there are other religions out there talking about hell before Christianity, it sheds light into the experiences that people throughout regions had. Not to mention, the devil is tricky and many times will convince people into thinking that hell is not there. "The greatest trick the devil ever pulled was to convince the world he never existed."

Wow. This thread is SERIOUSLY lacking in any good answers to OP's questions.

OP, I will get back to you with a lengthy reply to your questions / concerns.

My advice for you until then is to disregard every post made so far, as none have even come remotely close to answering your questions in a Truthful manner...

The first sentence of the OP is a false premise. What follows from that is therefore irrelevant.

and on top of it all, some may not feel our dear leader is holding our values at heart...

which makes it all the worthwhile just to forget it, when he is gone from office some may just well be cured...

this Nation has come to a halt in the past three years... makes me wonder why that could be?

God and Country... sorry I was a born here, it's hard to make that separation.

separation of Church and State of course is in the fabric...

some don't believe in what we're doing here with the direction and of the Nations future, and I suspect it is a Majority because we are at a halt.

our dear leaders administration needs to talk a little more openly with the conservatives instead of just battering them with their own twisted truths and morals.

heck no... that crap will drive you mad for sure!

simply... I and many others will not participate for a pinko communist while our streets are burning and the word "Occupy" is everywhere.

the other freaks who don't know how to handle it can come out, I choose Jesus' passive resistance.

and if he's not gone by next election, my butt will be... I will move to a country that believes in God then come back if we are on the right track... I am a free American.

is that food enough for ya's?

Before Hell there was Heaven. There was no punishment because no creature had sinned at that point.
