I see no good reason for people to have that much caffeine each day, regardless of how many hours they put in on the job per week.

It's more of a hard-core drug, than mere stimulant.

I am active all day, every day in one way or another, and get by on 3 double cups (12-16oz) of half oolong, and half green tea. Probably 200mg or less of caffeine through the day. Once you start going over that much, you can have serious issues.

It's just stupid.

Show off! and you probably jog 5 miles a day. You disgust me.

Hey, for a grande americano for $2, you can hang out at Starbucks, with free internet access. It's a pretty good deal, and a good place to meet people. A lot cheaper and safer than going out to the bars like in the days of old. And they have some healthy food choices, including green tea.

nice thread. I heard there was a law being passed in Cali about how people aren't aloud wearing pajamas/sweat pants in public, don't know if its true or not.

Nope, my left knee is starting to show a little wear, but I either row 5k, bike 50k, or swim 2k every other day

I'm not 100% against starbucks, but free wi-fi is pretty much everywhere. I'd just rather brew my own. I get quality loose leaf teas, and they're still a bit cheaper than $2 a cup.

To each their own!

#10 One town in Massachusetts plans to distribute free condoms to children as young as 12 years of age.

I think this is a good idea. In this day and age kids are reaching puberty, exploring sex & suffering the consequences at younger ages & we are too distracted pointing the finger that we forget to educate them. We think it's wrong to give them sex ed at young ages but they need to know the consequences of their actions.

Totally disgusting.

I'm thinking about cancelling the satellite TV and home internet. I'll miss the research, but I spend far too much time debating politics. I was doing power walks regularly last year, and I need to get back at it.

Maybe that might be a good way back to some common sense, unplug from the system for a little while.

When the hard working duel income couple's latch key kids decide to have sex at the age of 12, no one will be around to stop them, thanks to the con of the free market turning us all into slaves,

Are they more likely or less likely to use condoms is they have sex at twelve, if they can get condoms for free.

Without their parents around, too busy working, if they decide they are going to have sex, they will do it with or without the condoms.

I wrote an entire thread on Reality TV. In my opinion that has to be in the top three reasons why so many Americans are clueless....it's soooooooooooooooo incredibly annoying!

Number two reason is Big Pharm

The number one reason is the MSM

smh

I'd say FOX news is clearly the number 1 reason people have lost touch with reality.

Maybe Rush and the rest of the right wing talk show nutjobs ought to take the number 1 spot, with FOX second?

Don't forget televangelists.

Throwing away chips from 2000 bags of chips to the trash, only because the deposit you'll get for the empty bags is actually higher than the original price tag for the new bags of chips.

I would say there are two different senses, common sense and money sense. The two of them will never be intertwined.

Pessimism can be unhealthy.

Instead of looking for the negative all the time (look, we know it's there. It's not going away), we should be looking for something, hell ANYTHING positive to say.

People seem to be waking up slowly to the reality that they've been ignoring all along.

Star back at you. Really stupid isn't it. Canada and the US have been friends for a long time. They used to call the border between us the friendliest border in the world. These days not so much.I really like Canada and miss being able to go there without the gestapo on the border. You have a beautiful country.

I have a few more:

-Mainstream media has been caught time and again being inaccurate, putting a spin on stories, and feeding us nonsense, and people still watch and believe.

-Every election year, people crowd together to hear what a candidate has to say, believe it and vote based on their personal feelings (such as "I could have a beer with this guy, so I'll vote for him"). Later that candidate breaks every campaign "promise", becomes an entirely different person, and everybody feels betrayed and angry. Up comes another election, and people behave the same way all over again.

-People maim and kill others because of their belief in God, then claim theirs is a religion of "peace". Yes, I include the bombing of abortion clinics and doctors in this one.

-Mobs of people show up in the middle of the night for overpriced garbage made in China, whether it is for Black Friday, Nike shoes or Apple iPads or phones. Violence erupts and people get hurt and sometimes killed so some fool can have a flat screen TV for $200, or a pair of shoes that are considered a status symbol.

-The anonymity of the internet means that people have become nasty, rude and downright cruel. They don't use it to expand their base of knowledge, but use it as a platform to display their petty meanness and get away with it.

-People have no shame anymore. Their entire lives are displayed on Facebook and Twitter, thereby feeding the erroneous idea that they are somehow very important and their every move is riveting to the rest of the world.

-The federal reserve gets away with its destruction of our economy, they are criminals of the highest magnitude, and yet, every time Bernanke is on TV, whether addressing congress or the press, he is treated with respect like a king.

Well said, and close to how I feel. I can barely watch T.V. or the mainstream news anymore, unfortunately most people still do! When I do watch the news, it's only to see how ridiculous and transparent they have become.

Either By design or by accident there has been a continuing war on public education in the US.

State and federal will cut education I a heartbeat while increasing defense spending...

The only thing this tells me is they are creating a new class of serfs for cannon fodder.

Debt is the new serfdom get used to it as we let it already happen.

You can't have your serfs worrying about things like a bill of rights, constitution or the real nature of their government.

I'm placing my money on the idea that education has been destroyed by design. Intelligent design, to be specific.

Agreed. But it's way more socially acceptable than methamphetimines. Oops...gotta run.

My quad venti vanilla latte is up and they are calling my name.

Interesting ... feel free to add your own 'signs' that common sense has collapsed in America ...

20 Signs that we are witnessing the complete collapse of common sense in America

- Taking out student loans for KINDERGARTEN

I don't see how this shows a lack of common sense on the part of those taking out the loans. All research shows that kids who go to Pre-K and Kindergarten do better in school. Many states don't offer Kindergarten and expect parents to pay for it. Unless you are saying that it shows a lack of common sense on the part of society for setting up that kind of an education system, but when you live in a society which doesn't value education that's what you get.
