Ladies and gentlemen we say that we are free, are we really? How much control do we really have in our lives. I am going to make a simple basic list to demonstrate how much strangle hold that the Corporations have on our lives and we have no recourse. This is enslavement by limitation of choices. For instance

1 - Work/Jobs - We can only work according to our employers demands, nothing less. Any requests can be subject to termination. Our jobs can be outsourced at any moment to the lowest bidder. For the benefit of corporate finance

2 - Travel. We are limited by the choices of long distance travel. Delta, American Airlines, Amtrak...even compaines have their own draconian ineffective security laws that subjugate us to humiliating procedures in public. It is an embarrassment. We then have to pay to carry our toothbrushes, extra bag fees..etc. Ripping off the consumer to no end.

3 - Entertainment - all our media is controlled by a few corporations broadcasting the same junk designed to brainwash us and bombard us with advertisers and companies who have the big bucks. Those big buck companies show us the limited choices that we must make otherwise we are unhealthy, outcasts, unAmerican. We must buy it. We must have it, We need this phone, otherwise you will be left out of the loop.

4 - Personal gadgets - Few companies are now dominating the smartphone market and mobile gagdets are now spying on us. First there were incidents where the Iphone was storing tracking data. Other incidents where phones transmitted user data to unknown headquarters. More incidents where twitter and facebook were downloading user contact lists. Then a week ago Google wants to use the microphone on your phone to get better advertising. These few companies have the monopoly and they dictate which phones you are limited to. If you do not have a cell phone, you may be subject to discrimination when your boss needs you to work or you are unreachable to get to your slave wage job. Then you get fired

5 - Food and Medication - Monsanato and other companies are forcing the government to selectively limit our food choices to their brands and to make selling of other foods illegal. Don't get me started on the pharmaceutical industry. I am a healthcare worker, and it is about as corrupt as anything.

6 - Personal finance - We have no other choice but to put our money in banks for it to be lent out on interest (USURY, which is forbidden in the major world religions). This money puts other people into debt. They are forcing everyone to have credit cards, which can put more people into debt. We have no alternative financial means to make business transactions. First gold was the true money, then replaced with fiat money, then with credit cards, and its all electronic money over which we have no control over.

7 - Housing - We have to pay an interest on our housing; we miss a payment the same bank that lends us the money gets to capture the house back. Banks wait for the economy to crash and us to loser our jobs so they can capture hapless souls properties. They wait for you to get laid off, or your job to get outsourced and actively encourage the practice of such.

8 - Government control - Lobbying groups and special interest groups control almost every aspect of our lives and our representatives are not listening to us no matter what we say. They actively mock us and want to start more wars regardless of our demands to bring back our troops. Lockheed martin, boeing, raytheon are laughing all the way to the bank. The contractors are living in plush houses in the suburbs of washington DC while killing hapless innocent people a world away. Do they listen to US? No, they only listen to the corporations who send in their representatives to our government officials and invite them to fancy dinners with glamorous power point presentations.

Our lives are dictated by corporations.

Sounds like you give them control.
Jobs: Don't like what they say? Go work for yourself.

Travel: Drive.

Entertainment: Turn the damned TV off and go outside.

Gadgets: Stuff owns you. Divest yourself of all the useless crap in your life.

Food and Medical: Grow your own food and/or buy local. Look into alternative medicine.

Housing: Why "buy" something you can never actually "own"? Rent, live in the woods, live in your car.

Government control: Water the tree! It is well past time to water the tree of liberty.

I am not talking about myself, but the people who are enslaved by this corporate system. I do actually own an iphone but I am talking about the big picture of dictation about how we are really controlled. For instance the Obama law forcing people to buy insurance was done at the behest of insurance companies. What if we want to opt out?

There are so many barriers to entry at the government and corporate level that it prevents many individuals who desire to do so. The monopolies are very strict, government fees for licensing and entry prohibt it. It is usless for the common man. Not speaking about myslef but for those people who really do want to be free.

I will opt out. I will not buy the mandated insurance. I will not pay the fine. I will not.

I just noticed I skipped the one on banks.
Finance: Pay cash, barter. I have not used a bank for years now. It is not that bad.

You can try living under a bridge.

But seriously it wasn't any better in the 1960's or 1860's or 1560's.
Someone has always owned more than you do.

It's no different in the animal world. The strongest lion pack has the greatest range with the best impala herd.

Maybe you could become a honey bee. But no their lives are just as controlled.

I guess your are SOL! Deal with it. That's what the rest of us do.

Tonight I'll have a meal from a corprate controlled store. Then I'll watch my corprate built tv with a show produced by a big media company.
Then if I'm lucky I'll have sex in a position of my own choosing.
Life's good. What more could I want?

You sound happy with your servitude.

"If you love wealth greater than liberty, the tranquility of servitude greater than the animating contest for freedom, go home from us in peace. We seek not your counsel, nor your arms. Crouch down and lick the hand that feeds you; may your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen."

Actually corporate power has never been as consolidated as it is today. Not to mention with advances in technology it has made their reach much more apparent.

It's no different in the animal world. The strongest lion pack has the greatest range with the best impala herd.

Are we comparing ourselves to animals that do not have the ability to reason, use logic or have the capacity of human emotion and compassion? Nor do they have access to the type of communication and technology that we enjoy. This is exactly the type of mentality that makes the #ty world we live in possible. The dog eat dog/survival of the fittest mentality does nothing for the human race. The mind of a corporation is not human, nor is it animal, it is an entity on it's own. One that is destructive, exploitive and psychotic

Maybe you could become a honey bee. But no their lives are just as controlled.

Sounds like that's the perfect world for you being that you enjoy either controlling or being controlled (depending on your net worth).

I guess your are SOL! Deal with it. That's what the rest of us do.

More hive mentality. Deal with it, nothing will change its been that way for 2000 years, you are unworthy, pay tribute to the corporate gods.

If you are happy then why are you posting on this thread?

Have you ever noticed how wealth brings freedom?
Just because you do not have that ability don't try to make it out to be a bad thing.

As to the Obama heath plan... (I didn't vote for him)
He's trying.
How is it fair that those of us who have insurance and pay taxes should have to pay for those who do not? We pay extra taxes and higher preimums to cover deadbeats.
Now I do see your side that it seems like it's forced taxation. But how would you fix the inequaties in the heathcare system?
Do you also feel the elimination of 'pre exsisting' clauses is unfair??

It amazes me that all the whiners of messed up societies and big bad companies still do the following:
Drive on roads built with taxes.
Use the emergency room without insurance.
Have a cell phone.
Have a internet connection.

If you really hate the world the way it is go find a fourth world country and disappear into their mass of poverty.

It's that consumerism model that people become addicted to at many levels.

We all still have a choice. There are common workers who buy moderately expensive new cars 30-60k with Bank loans every 3-5 years and work a couple hours a day just to pay for it, when they could of saved for a year and paid cash for a 3-10k auto that would perform the same task minus looking as cool.

TV & phones with Service agreements & contracts that protects them while they sell your soul for everything they can get to advertisers.

A Banking systems with multiple levels of ever changing illusions in order to distort the truth of how many ways they extract your labor out before during and after transactions or just the passing of time.

I can't even run away out in the woods or mountains anymore, because they have forest police that want me to pay for parking passes if I have a car at the trail head and camping permits if I'm out and about. Otherwise they'll fine me or steal (tow) my transport and escort me off the peoples land with the threat of arrest if I refuse to comply.
