A bit extreme for a first time offender. Just some idiot typing before thinking. Maybe a fine and a warning would have sufficed. So many people do this online and get away with it, if you jail one you have to jail them all, surely?

Pub singer's 'racism' arrest over Kung Fu Fighting performance

A pub singer has been arrested on suspicion of racial harassment after singing King Fu Fighting in front of two Chinese people.

Simon Ledger says he fears he will end up with a criminal record for performing the 1974 disco classic at a seafront bar on the Isle of Wight on Sunday after two people walking past apparently took offence.

The 34-year-old, from the island, regularly features Carl Douglas’s 1974 number one hit in his set when he performs at the Driftwood Beach Bar in Sandown.

But after striking up the melody in front of customers at the weekend he noticed a man of Chinese origin walking past with his mother, making gestures at him and taking a picture on his mobile phone.

He said that he later received a telephone call from police - while he was dining in a Chinese restaurant - asking him to meet officers about the incident.

He was then arrested and questioned before being bailed.

A judge has branded the prosecution of a schoolboy (aged 10) for alleged racism as "political correctness gone mad".

The ten-year-old from Irlam, Greater Manchester appeared before Salford Youth Court charged with racially abusing a fellow pupil.

He had been accused of calling the other boy names such as 'Paki' and 'Nigger'. The boy had admitted using one racial insult, but said that that the other boy had called him 'white trash'.

The court heard that the boys were now friends who played football with each other.

Judge Jonathan Finestein said that he thought the decision to prosecute the boy was "crazy" and urged the Crown Prosecution Service to drop the case.

He said: "Have we really got to the stage where we are prosecuting 10-year-old boys because of political correctness?"

Twitter troll Liam Stacey has been jailed for posting racist tweets about footballer Fabrice Muamba after the midfielder collapsed from a heart attack during a match.

Millions watched in horror as Bolton player Muamba collapsed on the pitch during an FA Cup match against Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday March 17.

But Stacey, a 21-year-old student from South Wales, took to Twitter to write: "LOL. [SNIP] Muamba. He's dead!!!"

He carried on after that of course with some rather unsavory comments. He was then reported to the police by other twitter users.

The criteria for and definition of free-speech cannot die out or change. It either exists or does not. There are no alternate versions of it. It either is or it isn't. Which would you prefer?

There is no grey area - you either have FREEDOM of speech or you don't. Clearly, the UK no longer does.

Or, we need to redefine what 'freedom' means. I think some people are confused.

Yea how long till some of us get extradited for offending the Queen or the royal bank (FED) or whatever? Then again hillary just accepted the UN gun treaty and in 2011 they accepted a set of bank-speach-laws (seriously illegal to disparage the solvency of banks built on fractional reserve without any fraction left in it now, fiat).

And who can get a jury and the right to address your jury directly any more? Suggesting nullification gets contempt charges too. So when is harvest time?

Britain should never go back to that, ever, as someone who is white but from a family that is only one quarter English (hey, who in England or come to thing of it most other countries isn't at some point in their family tree is), that would be a shocking waste and would ruin this country

I think the governments are out of control. If there was no "physical" harm caused by Stacey to Muamba, then there should be no physical punishment. Give him a small fine. If he does it again, give him a bigger fine. Much worse is said on Facebook and Twitter by other non-white racially and radically motivated activists.

One stupid law fits all or one stupid law fits none.
