Israel cuts contact with UN rights council, to protest settlements probe

Well in response to last weeks U.N. human rights council decision
to establish a fact-finding mission to probe the effects of settlements on Palestinian human rights,
Israel is taking action !!

Israel's envoy in Geneva has been ordered to ignore phone calls
from the Human Rights council Commissioner

Israel will also deny entry into Israel and the West Bank !!!!!!

Looks like the white gloves are coming off !!

Israel's Foreign Ministry orders envoy to Geneva to ignore all phone calls from rights council commissioner; 'The council sparked this process', says a senior Israeli official.

Israel decided Monday to sever all contact with the United Nations human rights council and with its chief commissioner Navi Pillay, after the international body decided to establish an international investigative committee on the West Bank settlements.

The Foreign Ministry ordered Israel's ambassador to Geneva to cut off contact immediately, instructing him to ignore phone calls from the commissioner, a senior Israeli official said.

Israel will also bar a fact-finding team dispatched by the council from entering Israel and the West Bank to investigate settlement construction....

Israel Bitter over U.N.

Israel is also considering sanctions against the Palestinian Authority in response to the human rights council decision.

What are they afraid of ?

Hmmmm

Seems a bit ironic

Snippy Snippy !

GOOD FOR THEM! Anyone kicking out the United Nations should get a 'star' for the day. The United Nations is a corrupt cesspool. It acts only for it's own agenda and NOT for the good of others. Not really. It sucks money and is worse than useless. It's a toothless paper tiger when it comes to enforcing things. The United Nations trys to beat up Israel every chance it gets, but it ignores WHY Israel does what it does ... the ceaseless rocket attacks against its citizens ... the threats to be wiped off the face of the planet .... the tunnels smuggling in terrorist arms and munitions to use against Israeli civilians ... the boatloads of terrorist supplies that are snuck into the Gaza ...

The same can be said about the people in the Israeli government.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not a huge fan of the UN but it always bothers me when Israel picks and choose which UN resolutions that they will acknowledge. If the UN rules in favor of Israel they make sure we hear about it, but if the UN rules against Israel they outright refuse to acknowledge it.

Maybe this had something to do with their decision to cut contacts with the UN rights council:

General Assembly Adopts Six Resolutions, Concluding Debates on Question of Palestine, Wider Middle East Situation

Speakers Focus on Occupation, Regional Uprisings to Demand More Democracy

The same can be said about EVERY government.

again .. that can be said about a lot of UN resolutions and a lot of countries around the world.

The United Nations sucks. It's corrupt.
There is no reason for anyone to listen to what it says or follow it's directions.
Anyone who doesn't listen to it gets a
from me.
Be it Israel or Iran or the USA or whoever ...

For Israel's security and defense, annexing the West Bank is for the best. Last thing anyone needs is Hamas dropping rockets on elementary schools full of kids who did nothing wrong aside from scribble outside the lines of their coloring books. That kind of activity gives palestinians a bad reputation. Hamas isn't well known for their aim when it comes to firing weapons, they practically just light the fuse and duck down behind the walls and wherever it lands is jackpot.

The UN is corrupt as a whole IMO, but not EVERY part of it like the human rights council

When UN questions Iran legitimacy (human rights, nuclear program), UN is doing a good job! Those dirty Iranians, we need to bomb their country and overthrow their regime!

But question Israel? BAD UN! Bad bad! Corrupt! Don't even answer phone calls to the human rights council!

"We will not permit members of the human rights council to visit Israel and our ambassador has been instructed to not even answer phone calls," said the official.

Look at this. They have to ASK for solar panels. SHAME

SHAME

SHAME

SHAME

If someone refuses to even answer phone calls to the human rights council, they are definitely hiding human rights violations

LOL I missed this

We are dealing with Al-Qaida terror on the one hand and diplomatic terror by Abu Mazen on the other," Lieberman said, referring to PA President Mahmoud Abbas.

HAHAHA "diplomatic terror" LOL

Who knew UN Human Rights council is the equivalent to diplomatic terror!
