He didn't deserve someone else's heart, a heart that could have gone to a young person with their whole life ahead of them. Dick Cheney is one of the most evil men on the planet and is also one of the few people upon whose grave I would piss.

You mean he had a heart transplant - a heart that could had gone to someone less than half his age! Money talks when requiring organ transplants!

Unfortunately, it doesn't just stop at transplants. People who have money and power, are always escorted to the front of the line for everything.

Hi reR,

Except the front of the line on the "FRONT LINE"
I ain't no fortunate one.

He should have gotten a brain transplant.

I really hope he makes a full recovery...j/k.

I find it interesting that of all the people who need heart transplants (and yes i know that matching tissue, etc is another matter in itself), that someone Cheney's age, even after being on the list for 20 months, A) was even considered for a transplant, and B) did or will survive.

Then again, he has lots of money and lots of connections, and unless there was NO ONE else (younger) in the country to whom this heart could have gone, why someone as OLD as him? Granted, they can't just deny it because of his age, which brings back my previous point: unless there was not a single other person in the country, why him?

They're just gonna rebuild him with new parts forever it looks like until they find a way to transfer his mind to another brain...

Hmmmm, so judging by your comment you would be/are in favor of the obama health care death panels? Interesting. Is it just Mr. Cheney you find this distasteful or would you feel the same way towards the puppet master soros if he decided he wanted one? Or is it just old people in general?

Wow, to think that a twenty month wait is concidered being escorted to the front of the line, if that's so then they must've taken the senic route.

The statement said Cheney had been on the transplant list for 20 months

maybe they kept a few on ice from the twin towers after 9/11

I hope his body rejects the organ and he dies a slow death for jumping the queue and we just need to find a brain transplant for GW-Bush now, he has waited his turn on that one.

Cheney receives heart transplant; Bush still on waiting list for brain

Former President Bush made an appearance at the former Vice President’s hospital, hanging a “Mission Accomplished” banner in Mr. Cheney’s room hours before the operation was completed.

OK...first off, let me preface this by saying 2 wrongs don't make a right.
Yeah...he did some very questionable things, but he was the Vice President of the United States. He deserves a little respect whether you like him or not. While I have to admit the comments about people being surprised he even had a heart were indeed a little funny, personal attacks on a human level against the man who was second in command of a major world power are in and of themselves downright wrong.

Cheney has neither been formally accused of, nor convicted of any crime. Especially any crime against humanity. And certainly not to the level to provoke ANY of some of the comments here. We don't have the full story I'm sure. Nor should we. There was a law passed which took effect in 1996 called the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act which prohibits health care information from being released to the public without the expressed consent of the individual involved.

This works for both Cheney as well as his donor. One thing I do know about is cardiology. And yes, Cheney was above the average age of most heart recipients, but he was only on the waiting list for over 3 times longer than the normal recipient. And yes. Read this closely now..... some of it, WAS indeed related to money.

Why? Because he basically had an external cardiac assist pump for a year and a half. Quite a number of people who need transplants can not afford an external assist device. Therefore they do get a higher priority on the list than even a former 2 term Vice President, who can afford and do well....for lack of a better phrase... on the external device.

Either way, based on his lengthy medical history which is public record, I doubt he will have more than 5-8 years left. But, he wouldn't have had that long without the heart.

And...just for the record, Cheney...for those who don't know is related to Former President Harry Truman, as well as current President Barack Obama.

He has been charged overseas. Its why he can't leave the US. Just because someone reaches a high office does not mean we have to suck up to them.

I didn't say to suck up to anyone. I opened basically by saying a lot of comments could be seen as "stooping" to the level of the aforementioned in the comments.

My comment was simply looking at--and questioning--the situation from a RATIONAL and PRACTICAL point of view, and had nothing negative to say about Cheney himself.

So take your partisan trolling elsewhere.

I gave your post a star. In particular, you wrote:

That's about right. It's also true that Cheney was not accused and/or convicted of anything in the court of law. And he will never be. And therein lies a problem for most people who care to post in this thread. There seems to be no justice at any level. The man is responsible for acts of biblical proportions which terminated and/or changed lives of millions of people to the worse, based on some unique mix of evil thought and stupidity. And he'll never be held accountable. So on some primordial, base level there is a collective WTF when people hear that Cheney's life will be extended beyond the respectable age of 71. If you say he's guilty in the court of public opinion, you may be right. I usually preach the virtues of our justice system but there is no way it will work for Satan incarnate.

Nope. They dont get the Obamacare package. They have a special healthcare package.

I hope Mr Cheney does well actually. Having a transplant at his age,has to be tough.

I don't like the things he did as a politician, however there are a ton of politicians I don't like!

Dick Cheney is just a person like all of us, and he's trying to cope with a disease. The man just wants to live.

Good to hear he's recovering.

A war criminal who has been primarily involved in spreading death, destruction and plunder since the Nixon administration is NOT a person like me. Sorry, but an evil beast such as this does not deserve pity or any sugar coating. Some of you do not agree? Go ahead and look up some photos of Vietnamese, Iraqi or Afghani children burned or ripped to shreds then.

No God gave mercy to him. God being pure goodness gives undeserved mercy on all life. Even corrupt humans(all of us)/evil spirits(satan).God could have just destroyed all of us. God loves Cheney just as much as me or you or anyone.
God is not a respecter of persons. He doesn't care what position you hold/held or who you know. He cares about your heart/soul. God = Creator. Humans = created.

Forgive Cheney.

This is good. Life is good.

That's not what I find in my Bible. Most of the Old Testament describes how God goes postal on people who do things not to his liking. And when God decides to get gothic on you... Well.

Your reading into that too much.

Still think there are "secret codes" in message board posts?
Come on take your lithium this time.

No, I'm not reading the Bible too often. But when I do, and crack open the Old Testament, it's usually God who's getting up close and personal (and not in a nice way) with those who didn't pay attention to minute detail of His desires (which are not quite easy to guess, by the way).

I have no idea what you are talking about. My post was about my impressions from reading the Bible, which seem to contradict your comments.

Only 20 months on the list? Damn, guy must be lucky, or maybe he had one shipped over from china. I know a dude who died after holding on about 4 years, waiting on the transplant list. He was only 47.
