The threat was possible death. He responded in kind.
It is really annoying to see people who act as if they would take a beating and remain calm and just accept it up until a certain point. It would be hard to determine what danger you were in, you would just know you were in danger. What if the next blow is that freak blow that puts you in a coma and kills you. Like that actress that barely bumped her head skiing and was ok and talking and fine and then went into a coma all of a sudden and died. There are lots of one hit kill cases. This wasn't even one hit though, this was a beating he was taking.

Also there is the possibility that the teen was trying to take Zimmerman's gun which very well may have meant the end for Zimmerman. If someone is beating you and tries to take your gun you really have no option, but to shoot them.

That actress, as you put it (Natasha Richardson, btw), is just further proof Zimmerman didn't fear for his life. If he was fearful he might die from sustain head injuries he would have gone to the ER....we are all aware of the dangers of head trauma, so why did he decide not to be taken by ambulance to the ER.......

Because he wasn't in fear for his life and he used excessive force to control a situation he created and he then couldn't handle.

By your own logic Zimmerman should have been rushed to the ER....had he died later that night, don't you think the Zimmermans would have sued the county or city? You know they would have.

See how your logic fails when you actually think about it logically? If Zimmerman was in fear based on the reason you gave he would have demanded to go to the ER.....but he didn't. He knew his head was perfectly fine because all he had was a few scratches.

Logic is your friend.

You dont know that Trayvon was the agressor even. You are assuming. By most forms of logic the man following him after the police told him not to (And had been following him quite awhile) the agressor.
And the point about fights goes into lethal force. Zimmerman was not in a life and death situation, even from the wounds he had he was not in a life and death situation. That is the only time that lethal force should be used.

As an ex boarder, who used to ollie on boards regularly at almost 200 pounds, I find it highly unlikely that one was broken over the back of someone's head. It's possible, but highly unlikely. Sounds like something you would see in a movie, like those sugar glass bottles that break over heads

Real life, bottles don't break like that.

In your opinion. Go ask a neurosurgeon if they agree. Protect your brain, you only get one. And a 911 dispacher is not the police, they have no legal right to order anyone around. You also assume he kept following, turnabout is fair play.

You havent seen a board thats gone through alot of slides then XD Once the slick worn down its just wood. Also an olle is weight distribution with the trucks taking most of the weight. Its not a straight hit in the center.

people.activerideshop.com...

Google and you can find plenty of examples of center breaks.

He did keep following till he lost him by his own story. If anyone ever follows you around you better RUN because thats the only right you have in youre mind.

Again, sorry, but you don't have to wait until you have severe injuries to defend yourself. The whole point is to stop serious injury and death from occuring at all..... Common sense is not so common....
I implore you people to take some self defense courses, they may save your life someday.

actually it proves the opposite. That woman didnt know she was seriously injured until she was dying. I fail to see how your argument hold water with regard to Zimmerman not fearing for his life

Your making assumptions yourself you said he continued to follow him after told not to by police.First this is wrong it wasnt the police it was a 911 dispatcher and she didnt say not to.Second when the dispatcher told him this he obviously stops running as evidenced in the 911 call. And i have no idea how you would know if Zimmerman was in a life or death situation were you there?

Zimmerman himself said Trayvon looked to be in his late teens on the call.

Also for the exact words.

911 dispatcher:

Are you following him? [2:24]

Zimmerman:

Yeah. [2:25]

911 dispatcher:

OK.

We don’t need you to do that. [2:26]

Zimmerman:

OK. [2:28]

This after Trayvon turned and looked at him a bit..

Heavy breathing stops

How does that prove he kept following? Sorry, but it sounds more like he listened to me.....

We dont need you to do that is a request i guess your missing the point. She could have just as easily said do not follow him but she didnt. She was merely concerned with his safety so advised him against that action. On the 911 tape he stops running which is how the 911 dispatcher figured he was following him when she heard his breathing. After she advises against it his breathing returns to normal then he says he lost him.

Considering Trayvon already runing away at that point, it sounds like he listened to you?

Ummm, yeah......

We don't need you to do that.
OK(common term for complaince)

Coupled with the heavy breathing slowing to normal, that sounds like he stopped following when she gave the advice

I would imagine its protocol and only a fool would chase them in the first place.. So from what we know FOR SURE.. Zimmerman followed Trayvon, Trayvon ran way, Zimmerman shot an unarmed Trayvon after an altercation started between them somehow. Those are the facts we know for sure.

is the point you are claiming to make, that 911 dispatchers have a legal right to make a lawful order over the phone?
