Sorry, I know several ladies like her, approx same age, and West German,
they all speak like this.

But yeah, distraction is great, never mind the idea that history repeats itself,
how long ago was it that Hitler was in power?

Not only that, but it blows my mind that their great evil is capitalism, a system that isn't even in use anywhere in the world.

All economies are centrally planned and regulated!

some on this board seem very fearfull, and i just dont see why.

america is no more communist now than in 1940 when thousands of innocent civilians were put in camps, or the mccarthy hearings.

no one is after your guns. in fact obama has loosened gun regulations. for example, you can now go armed into federal lands. as for gun regulation, the average joe doesnt need certain types of weapons. an absurd example, though the arms extremists believe they should be allowed, is rpg's. no civilian needs one. a realistic example would be full auto firearms.

in regards to socialism, some things, for the common good, should be socialized. examples include police, fire, sanitation, education, and yes, healthcare. everyone pays, everyone plays.

as for corporate regulations, they need them. corporations have proven time and again that if left to their own devices, they are horrible for the populace. they pollute the water and air. use child labour. underpay workers and ignore safety concerns. without regulations corporations would turn you into a slave and excuse it because your paid pennies a day. they already want access to your facebook page and increasingly want to intrude on your private life as is.

i freely admit that somethings have gone too far. thats where moderation and negotiation are critical. no one is completely correct. for example i support somethings in the republican budget bill, but not others.

either way, hysteria, the sky is falling, its the end of the country as we know it is absurd. the constitution allows all things to be fixed (the founders believed in comprimise) and a my way or the highway approach is not going to help anything.

Not to mention the US Government's new found authority to assassinate American citizens without charge or trial.

Scary stuff.

In a speech at Northwestern University yesterday, Attorney General Eric Holder provided the most detailed explanation yet for why the Obama administration believes it has the authority to secretly target U.S. citizens for execution by the CIA without even charging them with a crime, notifying them of the accusations, or affording them an opportunity to respond, instead condemning them to death without a shred of transparency or judicial oversight. The administration continues to conceal the legal memorandum it obtained to justify these killings, and, as The New York Times‘ Charlie Savage noted, Holder’s “speech contained no footnotes or specific legal citations, and it fell far short of the level of detail contained in the Office of Legal Counsel memo.” But the crux of

Holder’s argument as set forth in yesterday’s speech is this:

Folks, this isn't theory....this is real...here...and now.

I hate it when non Americans try to tell the rest of the world whats going on here. Probably never been south of Intl Falls. How's the weather up there fella ?

but still live off of it
just go to wallyworld on check day.

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Seventeen percent of U.S. workers say they work for federal, state, or local government, ranging from 38% in Washington, D.C., to 12% in Ohio. More than a quarter of workers in Washington, D.C., Alaska, Virginia, and Maryland work for government, as do upwards of 15% in the vast majority of states.

www.gallup.com...

OK
so in DC the dole a conservative 16+ plus government employees = 54 percent getting a government cheque
where you are karen 54 is north of 50 ?

in several states the average is over 50 percent
but Yes the national average is lower

slight rounding off cause I mis read that part about variation from state to state

A record 49 percent of Americans live in a household where someone receives at least one type of government benefit, according to the U.S. Census Bureau. And 63 percent of all federal spending this year will consist of checks written to individuals for which the government receives currently no services, the White House budget office estimates. That’s up from 46 percent in 1975 and 18 percent in 1940.

The number of Americans receiving food stamps alone is up 72 percent over the past five years, to a record 45.3 million. Their annual cost, projected this year to reach $80 billion, tops the yearly budgets of most federal agencies.

Those figures will climb in coming years. The 75 million baby boomers have only begun their long march into retirement, while President Barack Obama’s health-care overhaul will extend insurance coverage to more than 30 million additional people.

Another program supported by both Republican and Democratic presidents, the ability to assassinate American citizens without trial based on mere accusations from the executive branch is a highly useful tool for tyranny. Over the past couple years the questions have always been; how far do they plan to take this policy, and, will they try to use it against American citizens on American soil? These questions have been indirectly answered by FBI head Robert Mueller when he tried to dodge them in a recent hearing:

Yes Karen, I think 'outsiders' do have the right to tell the rest of the world what is happening inside America!

Elks warning directly relates to this also:

"While many people support the United Nations for its peacemaking efforts, hardly anyone knows that they have very specific land use policies that they would like to see implemented in every city, county, state and nation. The specific plan is called United Nations Agenda 21 Sustainable Development, which has its basis in Communitarianism. By now, most Americans have heard of sustainable development but are largely unaware of Agenda 21.

In a nutshell, the plan calls for governments to take control of all land use and not leave any of the decision making in the hands of private property owners. It is assumed that people are not good stewards of their land and the government will do a better job if they are in control. Individual rights in general are to give way to the needs of communities as determined by the governing body. Moreover, people should be rounded up off the land and packed into human settlements, or islands of human habitation, close to employment centers and transportation. Another program, called the Wildlands Project spells out how most of the land is to be set aside for non-humans."

The Governments or should I say hidden string pullers are wrapping rings around everyone on the planet! This is well established and growing by the day.

I was born, lived and experienced life under another communist regime, Cuba, and trust me I have tried to warn people, but a mayority of leftwingers just don't want to listen, and they think socialism/communism are great when they have no real idea what it means.

Even if you read about what socialism, and communism are, if you have common sense alarms would be sounding in your head telling you these roads take people, and nations into dictatorships.

Very good take on it. As you said, common sense would tell folks living under a
dictatorship would be highly undesireable.

Even in todays world, we have watched the Arab Spring, people rallied
for the freedom of the Egyptians, and now they are no better than they were,
or perhaps worse.

All of the comments I hear about what a utopian world communism would be,
facism an answer to the problems that plaugue society almost seem
unreal, in the sense that I really wonder who is saying that behind what keyboard,
where, and why.

Thanks much for your comments.

The banks own everything now, due to the con of deregulation. Until people wake up and face this fact, we are doomed.

Sorry but you are wrong. Free markets do not allow monopolies to form. Monopolies form under leftwinger ideologies. The 5th plank of the communist manifesto is the creation of a central bank in charge of the economy.

In socialism and communism all power is consolidated and a few hold that power and CLAIM to represent the people.

A dictatorship under corporations is a socialist dictatorship as well known as facism, btw the Obama administration, and Obama himself, have signed at least one bill in which they declare to give power over education to "the Corporation", and other powers which should be left to the people.

All these bills about infinite detention, being able to capture any AMERICAN, and take away his/her rights, and not allowing them to have a lawyer was similarly done by other socialists/communist murderers such as Che Guevara.

Che Guevara announced at the UN that the communist dictatorship of Cuba did execute people, and that rights, even a right to a lawyer, to be fairly represented ect wasn't necessary, and in fact he said things like this.

Che Guevara: “Judicial evidence is an archaic bourgeois detail. We execute from revolutionary conviction.

This is the same thing that these new bills passed by Democrats, and even Republicans in power is pretty much the same thing that Che, castro, and other socialist dictatorships did to their nations...

ABAJO LA REVOLUCION!!!

I'm in no way an advocate of communism or for that matter capitalism, however it could easily be argued that many capitalist countries exist that are far worse off than East Germany ever was. I'm thinking particularly of African countries that follow a capitalist model but are ruined by corruption and greed.

Just because that particular lady had it bad in that one country does not make is so for all of the other people living in similar systems across the world.

I concede that generally capitalism seems to provide a better quality of life regarding modern history but that is down to more than the systems themselves. It is as much to do with the fact that the British Empire brought in the industrial age after which the USA followed setting a model that many other countries would follow.

Had the birth of industry been founded in a more communist based system then it could have easily been the other way around.

I don't by the 'communism offers no incentive' argument, prestige is always an incentive, humans are naturally competitive creatures whom have a tendency to want to out perform peers. There could be a stepped pay system where enterprising people can be rewarded in a monetary fashion. Hell I live in a capitalist society and money is not why I choose to perform well, it's because I believe in what I am doing and to some extent enjoy doing it.

Take China - we all know it's not really communist in the strongest sense of the word but neither is it capitalist, their system is due to become the most successful in the world sometime this century when judged by economy!

As it stands I live in the UK and am quite happy, clearly we are a pretty capitalist country but I am proud of our few socialist institutions such as the NHS without which I would be dead if I lived in the USA, I'm proud of our education system which is largely free and for the most part much cheaper even at degree level than many other countries. I'm proud of out welfare system which I freely admit have used between work and also paid back into while working.

The Tories are doing there best as ever the ruin the few good old socialist systems we have left but for now I think we have a pretty good balance - just a shame about the water and energy companies!
