Walk in to my polling station.
Hand the woman my card.
Guy sitting next to her asks if I am voting Dem or Rep.
I say "Eff all of em"
at this point I realize they only have 2 ballots. one for each.
So I asked If I could have both ballots
"No"
I say "well, I will pass", and head to the door.
The Captain guy.... meets me outside and says "If you do that in Nov. I will have you arrested."
"WoW"
He makes me come back in, chose a ballot:: They handed me a Dem ballot::
Fed it in the machine, and I said just leave it blank...
The Captain said that was it.
I could have written myself in, But figured my chances were slim on the win.
All in all. I was still p!$$ed walking home.

I'm calling Barbara Streisand.

Primary voting is totally different than in a General Election.

You cannot have both ballots in a semi-open primary. It is also completely inappropriate to say "F*** them both" to a volunteer at a polling booth. The gentlemen may have been out of line by suggesting that he could have you arrested if you were to conduct yourself in that manner again, but you were also out of line for being entirely disrespectful for absolutely no reason. I am truly embarrassed for you.

Show some shame and apologize to them.

An elementary response from an elementary mind.

Second line.

WOW - this is very interesting.

The only reason for this I suppose is that only registered Republicans or Democrats can vote in the primaries, so they were probably just confirming which registration.

However, they should have asked for your proof of registration first and then just handed you the approprite ballot.

well,
unfortunately, my vote could have made a difference both locally and on the fed level...

so how sir is my mind so simple?

Your mind is simple because you do not understand how to conduct yourself around individuals who are only trying to help you exercise your right as an American citizen to participate in primary elections. Please explain to me how your actions were not immature, ingracious, and combative?

The individuals you so callously chastised are basic citizens taking time out of their day to participate and mediate over an important and historical process. If you do not understand how to treat people with basic, respectful decorum, then you absolutely are simple minded--and that's putting it kindly. My mother has volunteered at one of the many precincts in my hometown for over a decade, and if I were to witness an individual using that kind of tone with her (for absolutely no reason, mind you), that person would not be able to open their mouth for a few solid months.

Again, show some shame and apologize.

I need not explain myself to you.
your mother has nothing to do with this.
you for some reason fail to see purpose in this thread, and call me out for being disrespectful, when I was being disrespected from the get off..

again, there were people on both ballots I would have stood behind.
my only choice was not to chose.
I did no disrespect to anything I did, and feel no shame whatsoever.

You have proven my point-- elementary responses from an elementary mind.

You have also failed to convey whatever point you were trying to make by creating this thread.

Total nonsense.

I am at a loss of why you would tell us about something that paints you in such a bad light? Why would you act like that to begin with?

Why would you go to a PARTY PRIMARY if you don't want to vote in them???

I think you are just showing that you don't understand what these primaries are.
