I don't believe they have destroyed this country, but they're working at it pretty hard. A large majority of illegals could give a rats a$$ about this country and the welfare of it. I think it would be ignorant not to see the fraud and abuse of our system that illegals feel so entitled to. That's not the ethics America was founded on. Our fore fathers fought and made great sacrifices for this country to make it what it is (was). Illegals can go back to Mexico and do the same thing but they DON'T want to make the sacrifices it would take to change it, bottom line. Instead, they come here and and ride on the coat tails of US citizens that have already done the footwork for them.
This gets to be such a lame and tired topic, those that are not directly effected by it could care less about the ones that are, or so it sure seems.
And yes, employers of illegals need to be targeted. They're very much responsible for the Illegal immigration problems we face.

You do realize that your illegals did not get a healthcheck before coming here right? You sure you want to eat their food?

They do not bring extra culture here. We already have their race here and they came here through the proper channels.

Yes some are indeed humble people, but by allowing illegal immigration, we also allow murderers, rapists, pedophiles and thieves. There are good reasons why we have laws.

I'd work my butt off too if I could go to another country and get paid 10x's what I make here in the US with free healthcare, rent, utilities, free cell ph and low taxes if any. Do you really think the Taco trucks, food carts and tamale venders are a benefit to our economy? I will go out on a limb and bet that at least 80% of the cash they take in is not reported and a large majority of that probably gets sent back to Mexico. The last time I checked being humble and a decent person didn't entitle me to a free ride. They're in violation of our laws just being here for christ sakes, not to mention the other laws they are breaking i.e.; fraud, perjury, falsification of gov documents, etc and those are the good ones.

I know, take off income taxes and add tax only the sales...then, what will you have against illegals, they will pay the same % on everything like everyone, rich and poor. Vote for me.

I've lived in LA and I understand why some rich Californians like illegal Mexicans, they work for cheap and do a damn good job. The problem isn't the Mexicans directly.

America was stolen by rape from native Indians, I know it's too late but I think it's reason enough to give immigrants a break.

I'll say it again, tax sales and not labor then I don't see how illegals would be abusing from the system.

That sucks for California. Since AZ made a crackdown and minutely started sticking up for itself, we've become much better off. The economy in Tucson actually improved through the national hardships that rock the rest of the country. Jobs are plentiful. It's not yet back to 2008 levels, but there has been a sharp increase. There is less violent crime too. I won't go into crime as much with this topic because with less Mexicans, there are plenty of other groups to fill that void for crime, so I'll just stick to violent crime. Instead of hearing 3 stories a night of shootings, home invasions, pedofiles, and rape, we only get a couple per week now. AZ should be used as a model.

Hmmm i wonder if it's too late to give California back to Mexico and get some of our $18,000,000 back

The cost of those papers and being smuggled in can cost thousands of dollars yet all you hear about are the 'poor' illegals.

There isn't a single legal immigrant alive today who had anything to do with how this country was started. In any case, it is the USA and here we have laws, like it or not.. None of us can pick and choose which laws we wish to follow without repercussions. Illegals cannot just shove aside those who are coming here the right way and get to the head of the line.

Unless you are 100% Native American, you are advocating for your own deportation.

The history of mankind is a history of migration, but there has to come a time when people come through LEGAL channels.

It is not fair for the people who came here legally, like my parents and many others, for a bunch of freeloaders to come on through illegally and get everything handed to them. I have also worked in welfare, and in MHMR (mental health mental retardation) here in Texas, and there are way too many illegals who come here SPECIFICALLY to get benefits, such as assistance for their mentally handicapped children. They have told me this through an interpreter. I wasn't allowed to ask immigration status per federal government regulations, but it used to really chap my hide, because there were thousands of citizen children here, handicapped and desperately needing assistance, that were on a list where the average wait time was over 10 years because at least a 1/3 of those were illegals.

The identity theft issue in which social security numbers are sold, so that you might have 6 or more people (all with spanish surnames) using the same social security number, is yet another problem.

I do blame the government, most certainly. I blame Big Agra and other businesses who pay the illegals under the table and lie to the IRS every bit as much. But I don't like the attitude of ingratitude displayed by the illegals, either.

The tired old argument of "we are all immigrants" has nothing to do with this problem. If you are going to cherry-pick which laws you want to follow, maybe others can do the same. Maybe if somebody breaks into your house and steals your stuff, including your credit cards, perhaps they can say, "Well, I wanted a better life, so I'm sure you don't mind if I break a bunch of laws to help myself. Besides, you are not native to this area, so that makes it alright"

All countries have immigration laws, including Mexico. Most mexicans have European in them as well, so when does this daisy-chain of "who was here first" end?

Once they've committed the crime of trying to make a better life for themselves they are henceforth described as "illegals" and could never possibly do anything to deserve praise or adulation, nor can they ever work hard enough to remove the stain of that sin of hopping a fence

Don't get me wrong, I understand that illegal immigration is a series issue with many negative consequences, but demonizing these people does nothing to solve the problem. The callous xenophobia I see from some of my fellow Americans will never cease to astound me. By the way we stole this country, we're all the sons and daughters of immigrants, and last I checked we've also been doing our damnedest to destroy the paradise we stole to begin with.

Those who are sticking up for illegals obviously havn't been affected by them. I suppose if an illegal pedophile gets ahold of one of their kids they will think differently, but by then it too late. It is too late for the thousands of families who have lost a loved one because of illegal immigrants. It is too late for the husband and father who lost both his wife and child at the same time, too late for the teenaged girl who lost both her legs having been run over by a drunk illegal. Too damned late and all because our laws were not enforced. Too damned late because an arrogant illegal decided he/she was above the law and better than anyone else.

That is because this is California, Im not sure if you are from here or not but the left wing liberal socialists that run this place have even gone so far to push the idea that the very term "illegal alien" is racist. Now they are supposed to call them "undocumented workers" which is crap because not all of them work but they are all ILLEGAL ALIENS.

That's just crazy. Next it will be racist to call someone that kills another a murderer or someone that rapes another a rapist. How can calling anyone, whether they be Mexican, Chinese, Indian, etc, that comes into our, OUR, country illegally, an illegal alien.

American lawmakers have lost their minds. As I said earlier, those lawmakers that were in the room with the 5 illegal aliens should be brought up on charges of aiding/harboring.

They are called illegals because it is illegal for them to be here. If you want to be politically correct we can say undocumented immigrant, but they are still illegals. Shall we call a bank robber financially challenged?

They come here to make a better life for themselves at the expense of the legal citizen replacing them in the workforce. Let me tell you about these wonderful undocumented folks that I worked with over the years. Most of them had no intentions of ever becoming a legal citizen as they said they got more by being illegal. Women would get on welfare by lying and saying they were a one income houshold which was a lie. They and their significant other made well over the poverty line. They would come right out and tell you america is stupid. Many of them send money back to their own country and then move back and live like kings.

You think illegals deserve praise and admiration for stealing identities, taking from the system through their deciet? Praise and admiration for taking a job away from someone who desperately needs a job in order to care for their families and survive? Oh my God, are you serious?

At one time people came here through proper channels and with great respect and gratitude. This is no longer the case.

Because that's what they are. If I went to another country illegally and committed fraud against their citizens and government, I would most likely be classified as a criminal. I would say the term "illegals" is being polite. Politically correct went out the door when I saw how blatant and arrogantly they go about abusing the system we pay for.

The whole PC thing started with the "English as a second language" classroom or "ESL" that its self is a lie, English is not their "2nd language" Spanish is their ONLY language. So they pretty it up and say English is their "second language" and then they teach them in Spanish because that is their only language and they never learn English. California has been treating these people like royalty for years now and it is getting to the point where if you get pulled over for anything it is better just to lie and say you're here illegally. Now they will not impound your car if you are here illegally. So you can work your whole life, pay taxes and get your car impounded if you get caught driving without a license but if you are here illegally you get to have your friend pick up your car for you. Of course this means you just run off and do it again each time changing out a different last name.
